Today I popped in at the craft fair that Kat and Amy had a booth at. Many of the pieces here I fired for them. I even purchased 2 pieces I had been eyeing. 🥰

My daughter and I supported 7 small businesses today and some of the proceeds go back to Seattle public school. Feeling good about our choices today.

The wind storm and Thanksgiving have me in my feelings. I’m extremely grateful for this life. I’m thankful for my small business and goals I have set to be in the place I am today. 😊

Oh, and I’m thankful for this snuggly pup Buddy.

A few weeks ago I attended the Wa art educator conference and learned how to Batik. Batiking is a traditional Indonesian art form of hand-printing textiles using wax and dyes to create patterns. I had so much fun and can’t wait to start brainstorming art lessons.

It’s that time of year again where my heart is full because the kiln is filled with local artists pottery. It’s holiday bazaar season and holiday school fundraisers, so they are working hard getting things ready. 😊

A little bit of a late post, but in honor of Diwali and their national bird, students made peacock candle holders. They applied multiple techniques for this project: pinch pots, coil making and slab impressions using their fingers.

Can’t wait to see these finished.

They’re finished and finally displayed! This is probably my favorite version of this project so far. So must character!

These adorable little houses were no bigger than 4-5 inches inch. They took an amazing amount of patience for the students to complete these in about 46 mins.

Want to paint ceramics but need more than 1-2 hours? You can host yourself! It’s super easy, we coordinate a drop off and pick up time, I clear glaze the pieces, fire them and deliver them back individually wrapped.

Students are learning how to create glaze transfers onto bisqueware. They had to free draw a picture and then trace over their drawings with ceramic glazes and let them dry. Then we did light glaze washes onto plates and transferred over their image.

This was a big learning curve, but they are having fun.

Look at these amazing felt animals! Students are studying fable stories and story clothes from around the world. They had to draw their animal and then cut them out in felt combining the two lessons togethers.

Apples! The theme is apples! Once again my apple tree produced more than we can consume so we shared with the local deer. We also made pinch pot ceramic apples.
