We were able to get to Osprey Landing today to assess damages. We are very happy to report that Osprey Landing survived Hurricane Dorian. There were only minor issues like a couple of missing boards on the boardwalk and debris that we cleaned up, but overall we were very very fortunate considering so much worse happened in Hatteras and Ocracoke.
Osprey Landing is ready to welcome guests back.

Back up and running tomorrow!
It took a lot of work and we had to replace and fix many things but we should be ready tomorrow. The lighting strike was unfortunate, but no one was hurt and the damage to the house was minimal. Hope our guests have a great time!

A bit of bad luck...
Last week during a very strong and active storm, Osprey Landing was struck by lighting. We received the a call around 10:30 that night and were prepared for the worst.

After several days we now have a good idea on the damage and how long the house will be shut down for repairs. Hatteras Realty will be contacting affected renters. If you have questions or concerns regarding your specific rental of the house please call Hatteras Realty. At this time it appears we will be back up and running in three weeks, including this week, after repairs are completed on the house.

This was an unfortunate situation and we are very thankful the guests that were at the house when it was struck are fine. Its a little heart breaking having just completed the renovations on the house this spring, but we will be up and running soon!

Into paint now! Still a lot of things to get done but getting close.

A lot more work has been completed and the house is getting ready for paint. We have decided to clean and stain the bridge too. Most of the interior outlets and switches are new and we are now having the outside electrical updated. There is still a lot to get done before we start renting again at the end of March but we are getting it done!

Big changes underway at Osprey Landing. We love this property so we do our best to keep it looking good and make it comfortable for our guests. Unfortunately the old cedar siding had succumbed to the years of weathering and salt air. The windows are due for replacement as well. We are adding new siding and paint, roof, windows and a door this spring along with many additional improvements.

We'll keep you up to date as work progesses.
