Early Season Stried Bass Fly fising on the Kennebec River
I'm seeing the best June striped bass fly rod action in years. Lots of fish spread throughout the lower 15 miles of the Kennebec. We're getting fish from 21-32" each trip. If your looking for quantity, there's loads of 10-15" schoolies feeding on the surface too. I'm pretty much booked through the end of the month, but I do have several openings in July. Let's go fishing!
February Matlacha Snook Fishing
This was shot as a winter cold front was settling in over southwest Florida. North wind blowing 10-15 with temps in the 60s.Water temp was 74* The snook were cruising the sands along the mangroves just the same though. These weak cold fronts don't always shut down the bite. The ladyfish were eating everything thrown at them too.

07-17-17 Fins and Furs Adventures
Great fly fishing action on the Kennebec River is continuing into mid July. Carroll and Adam caught over 30 striped bass during their 6 hour morning charter. We're catching them on both floating and sinking lines. There's more striped bass in the River than we have seen in years. One of the clips in this video shows Carroll Ware from Fins and Furs Adventures catching a 20" schoolie striped bass on a colossal 13" bunker fly!

Long time client and friend John Albin making this Orvis fishing guide look good on a less than perfect day of fly fishing. 15mph NE winds, rain and a 3 knot moon tide river current didn't stop John from catching over 20 striped bass.

The fishing in the Kennebec is excellent right now. Stripers from 12"-30" are throughout the River. There are a few biguns around too. We're catching them on Flies and lures. Over 30 fish caught during the charter on June 21st.

We caught 40 fish in 5 hours ranging from 14" to 30" in 8 different locations this morning... Fishing on the lower Kennebec River is Fantastic! I have 5 days open in June and 12 open in July. They'll go fast, don't wait.
Nothing says welcome back to Maine better than a bent fly rod! Good to be home. Lots of schoolies in the Kennebec and the biguns just arrived.
