Cuba is considered more progressive regarding LGBTQI acceptance than many other destinations. Cuba's Family Code legislation recognizes same-sex marriages and the right of ALL people to adopt. The Code also expressly prohibits discrimination based on identity and sexual orientation.

Cuba has made significant strides in LGBTQ+ rights and is, in fact, more progressive than the USA. The country has decriminalized homosexuality, and there is growing acceptance of diverse gender identities. Cuba’s recently passed Family Law allows marriage and child adoption regardless of sexual identity. Havana is one of the safest cities to travel to, and it is quite safe to be part of the LGBTQ+ community in Cuba.
