Group Travel may seem daunting to some, but absolutely blast to others. Given an option, most of us would love to travel with our friends, partners and family. However, it comes with its own complexity of creating the right itinerary within the right budget as per group needs.
So for my Egypt and Jordan group trip ( Dec 2022) we used Memphis Tours
Overall the trip was great, we had wonderful guides, good local transportation arrangements and hotel choices but we faced couple of hiccups and wanted to share my learnings.
- Make sure you check your own travel documents and not rely on tour companies. They forgot to check passport validity as per the country rules and hence 2 members of the group had to miss the first part of the trip.
- Do not book flights with them as they provide zero support incase of flight cancellations.
- They upsell at every opportunity, don't get carried away. And their rates have significant mark ups.
- Make sure you are on top of your finances and things are clear from the beginning. They can change itinerary and hotels without informing you.
- We were promised the refund on the unused portion of the trip due to the passport mishap but its been more than 2 months since we have returned and we haven't heard anything from them. To add to it, Delta has refunded some part of the ticket to them and they haven't even refunded that part.
To summarize, Group travel is fun, but complex. Do pay attention to above points and good luck with your adventures !
