A different sort of tour today in the largest Greek Island. Crete or Kriti, way south of Athens. Beaches and resorts on the north coast. Remote beaches and small villages on the south coast, and in between mountains and the fertile Lassithi Plain where so much of the agriculture happens. I have always wanted to see inland, so an off road jeep tour up to 4000 feet, with www.safari.gr and our great guide Kristian, took us from remote olive groves, to an isolated shepherd’s home, old churches, an olive factory, sighting goats in the high branches of olive trees and ending at a magical taverna with the best greek lunch you can buy! Loved it. Greece is so much more than it’s beautiful beaches. ation
