Working with a real travel professional, is all about relationships. We have the knowledge and experience, now celebrating 10 years; to help you through the maze of what is out there, what you want to do and not do. Education in the destinations and more. The internet will not do that for you. The Internet is not personal, you are a number and not a real person.
At Echevarria Travel, Nelson and I, are the owners. We offer customized service to sit down with you Face-to-Face or via live video chat and conference chats, with you and your family and friends, to World Wide Destination, Nothing is to big or to small. We only do vacation packages.
22.95 hours on the Internet to plan a vacation? Seriously?
It’s true. According to a study published by Expedia, the average amount of time Americans typically spend researching a vacation online is 22.95 hours – that’s almost a full day! If those were work hours, it would equal more than $600 in pay on average. Why does it take so much time? Well, the same study reported that, during those 22.95 hours, people visit an average of 140 websites.
At Echevarria Travel, we have the knowledge and resources to recommend the perfect vacation experience for our clients, whether you want to travel within the U.S. or internationally. Because I am a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) – certified by The Travel Institute – I have access to more options, often at better prices. Plus, I can find unique and interesting activities you can enjoy while you’re at your destination.
What makes us different? We spend a little quality time with you at the beginning of the process – often as little as 20 or 30 minutes – and ask you what kind of travel experiences you’ve always dreamed about… what’s on your bucket list. We want to know what you’ve enjoyed (and what you haven’t enjoyed) during past vacations. Then we get to work!
Meet the team – Cheryl & Nelson Echevarria
When you call Echevarria Travel, you talk to us. We don’t have a complicated phone system where you have to push a lot of buttons to talk to a real human. We’re the ones who answer the phones. We’re also the people who do the research and the work. And that’s how it should be because we have experienced many of the travel options we are likely to recommend.
We’re also the people you call if you have any questions or issues during your vacation. And that’s important, because sometimes emergencies happen. And whether you’re only 100 miles from home or on another continent, you’ll need help from someone who understands your situation and knows what to do.
What would you do?
You’re traveling through Europe by rail and you realize at a train station that you’ve lost your passport. What are your options? Or, what if you’re in Switzerland or Brazil and a flight delay causes you to miss your connecting flight… and the next available flight is in the morning? Or you lose your wallet with your ID and credit cards while traveling and you’re not sure what to do.
If you book with Echevarria Travel, you simply give us a call and we’ll drop everything to help you until the situation is resolved. We are available to our clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone.
Sometimes, you should book your travel online.
We like to say, “The internet is for looking. Echevarria Travel is for booking!” But that doesn’t mean you should never use an online travel service. Online travel sites are ideal when…
You’re going to stay with friends while traveling and you just need a plane ticket
You’re using airline miles and staying in a timeshare
You’re driving to your destination and only need to book a hotel
That said, even in these circumstances, we can help you with activities at your destination. We have extensive resources that provide exciting tours and unique activities at destinations throughout the world. And because we are certified travel planners, we can usually find them at a good price!
We are passionate about Special-Needs travel.
Many people think that, because they have special needs, they are unable to enjoy the experience of travel. At Echevarria Travel, we have helped hundreds of clients with special needs enjoy the thrill of travel in destinations around the world. In fact, in most cases, there are many, many options available. Our clients have enjoyed fun travel experiences with a wide range of special needs, including:
Specific dietary needs, such as gluten-free or low-carb diets
Being wheelchair-bound
Autism
Vision problems or blindness
Impaired hearing, including a need for communication by sign language
Planning a trip for someone with special needs is highly complex. For example, when travelling internationally, it’s important to remember that countries outside the U.S. are not required to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
We are happy to plan a trip for you and your family that will be fulfilling and rewarding, as well as a lot of fun, no matter what your special needs may be.

My friend, Cheryl Echevarria is a travel agent, so I shot her off an e-mail asking what she could do for us, along with telling her of plans we would like to look into for ourselves and for the whole family in the coming year. She worked her magic and got us two nights for this weekend for only slightly more than we wanted: $358 for the weekend, with taxes.
Elmar Crisp - Brentwood, NY - September 1, 2010 -
We went to the Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay Jamaica from August 23-30th, 2010 and booked through Cheryl Echevarria of Echevarria Travel, it was our first trip to Jamaica and we always wanted to go. Now that I am retired, my friends and I left the hubbies at home and had a girl's week there. Cheryl, was just awesome, had payments plans, explained everything including the weather down in Jamaica, since August is Hurricane Season, but we had some rain, but nothing major. Cheryl is very professional, and now we are planning our vacation for next year to go to Hawaii.
