Ho, ho, ho ... A recent study by Deluxe Holiday Homes ( http://www.deluxehomes.com ) ranked the top 10 best cities for Christmas decorations by analyzing search trends, social media activity, and event data.

The research considered Instagram hashtags for festive content, including "{Cityname Christmas}" and "{Cityname Christmas lights}," to measure each city's popularity during the holiday season. Cities were also evaluated on the number of Christmas events hosted. The final ranking combined hashtag data on Instagram, reflecting the unique festive appeal of each city.

While New York City clinched the top spot, the destinations throughout the South secured the third, fourth, ninth and tenth spots.

🌟With 15.9K Instagram hashtags, Nashville, Tenn., secured the third spot. Music City stands out as one of the busiest cities for Christmas celebrations, hosting 220 events, and its social media activity and active calendar of festivities make it a key destination for holiday enthusiasts.

🌟Dallas, in the fourth spot, with a total of 12.7K hashtags, in which "{Dallas Christmas}" takes 11,600, and {Dallas Christmas lights} takes 1,100. The city hosts 560 Christmas events, the second-highest among all cities in the ranking. It also generates 11,600 Instagram hashtags for "{Dallas Christmas}," reflecting its strong holiday appeal.

Today is , marking the end of with the ratification of the 21st Amendment.

While this may seem unusual for a travel blog to mention, we have two points: First, thank goodness, the South has some incredible breweries, distilleries and meaderies worth exploring. Second, if you find yourself in Savannah, Ga., you should visit the AAmerican Prohibition Museum

The museum is the only one in the country dedicated to this era. It features 20 exhibits detailing this period and highlighting the city's role during the 1920s and 30s.

in 1955, refused to give up her bus seat in Montgomery, Ala., and on Dec. 5, the Montgomery Bus Boycott ~ http://bit.ly/1ymBgQq ~ began and lasted until Dec. 20, 1956.

Inside, see a replica of the public bus on which Mrs. Parks refused to give up her seat (the original bus is on display at The Henry Ford, ~ http://bit.ly/2FPokmt ~ in Dearborn, Mich.) and a restored 1955 station wagon that was used as a taxi to transport people during the boycott.

Read a letter from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., dated December 1956, to the chief of police requesting police protection when the Montgomery buses' desegregation would be enforced. This was Dr. King's first letter as a Civil Rights activist.
