As of 11/8/2021 ALL US citizens, even those that are fully vaccinated, green card holders, AND documented immigrants have to be able to show a negative result from a PCR test that is done within 48 hours of flying to the US. At some locations there are Rapid PCR tests available that generally have results within 35-45 minutes and cost almost double of the regular PCR test that generally gives you your results in about 12 hours. Airports throughout the world are good bets for finding a PCR Test Center but consider the time of your flight. You need to have an appointment for airpirt clinics and most other locations.
Contact the US Consulate or US Embassy for information about where to have an approved test at your location. A Google search can also turn up several options that could do PCR testing quickly”

GET YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS IN ORDER NOW TO AVOID BACKLOGS

We recommend that if you plan to travel this summer that you make sure that your US Passport is Up to Date. Check its validity dates today! If it will expire 6 months after your scheduled return date home, you NEED a RENEWED Passport in order to travel. Go to www.traveldocs.com to start the renewal process or call 800 874-5100. You will have to send your expiring passport and filled in application together with a passport photo (see instructions at need to have a passport photo taken and send it along with your expired or expiring US Passport. It takes 4-6 weeks to complete a renewed passport application. TDS can also process 2nd passports for frequent travelers.

Good news for travelers! The CDC says that people who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after second dose) can travel at LOW RISK. However, it's important to check in on your destination. Do they have restrictions, covid tests, quarantine, etc. Check on what requirements the airline you plan to travel on have. The CDC says that the fully vaccinated should wear MASKS.
