Introducing the Allen Marine/Alaskan Dream Cruises x XTRATUF Legacy and Ankle Deck Boots!

Our vessel and shipyard crew work tirelessly in the stunning, yet often wet, temperate rainforest of Southeast Alaska. Xtratuf boots are a popular choice among them for their style, comfort, and practicality. While there are now many styles and colors to choose from, as an Alaska Native-owned company we thought it would be amazing to join hands with Xtratuf and introduce the first Alaska Native formline design boot. After all, Xtratuf is an iconic brand in the region, and nothing says “Alaska” more than the artwork of those who have been here since time immemorial.

The traditional Eagle formline design on the boot was created by Tlingit artist, and former Allen Marine employee, Mary Goddard (Mary Goddard-Artist). Tlingit culture is matrilineal, meaning that both men and women trace their clan affiliations through the mother’s lineage. It is organized into two equal halves--the Eagle and Raven moieties. Eagle was the moiety of our company’s beloved matriarch, Betty Allen. In Tlingit culture, eagles are associated with protection, wisdom, and strength.

These limited-edition boots are currently available internally and will soon be made available to the public. We’ll keep you updated on how you can purchase your own pair very soon!
