MS² - Mathematics & Science for Minority Students A Phillips Academy Outreach Program, (MS)² offers summer academic scholarships to Minority Students. (MS)2 is free of charge for all scholarship recipients.

(MS)² was founded in 1977 to address the compelling need to cultivate the mathematical and scientific abilities of underrepresented African American, Latino, and Native American high school students from across the United States. (MS)2 seeks to advance diversity in the STEM fields by developing the competencies and self-confidence of outstanding high school students of color. Held on Phillips Acad

emy’s historic campus in Andover, Massachusetts, the three-summer scholarship program challenges students intellectually and provides essential college and career counseling. Candidates currently must be in the 9th grade in a U.S. public school and must complete one full year of algebra before entering the program. Eligible scholarship applicants include African American and Hispanic/Latino students who attend public schools in the cities of Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Chicago; Cleveland; Fort Worth, Texas; Lawrence, Mass.; Louisville, Ky.; Memphis, Tenn.; New York City; and Washington, D.C.
