Greetings from aboard the Disney Fantasy! 🚢🏝️❤️

Yesterday we spent the day at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. Castaway Cay was designed to resemble an abandoned island that was once occupied by a bunch of explorers who found the island but never wanted to leave.

Castaway Cay is a fun destination offering excursions like snorkeling, jet skis, banana boats, kayaking and much more. It also offers plenty of opportunities to relax on the family beach or over at Serenity Bay, the adults only beach.

Castaway Cay is what happens when you combine the creativity of Disney’s storytelling with the beauty of the Bahamian islands.

Yesterday I boarded the Disney Fantasy at Port Canaveral with my 17-year old daughter. We were able to purchase transportation on Disney Cruise Line’s bus from Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where stayed the previous night, directly to the port.

Once on board we headed straight to Cabanas, the buffet restaurant, for some lunch. Afterwards my daughter headed straight to Vibe, the teen club, where she met fellow teens. She loves the teen clubs on Disney cruises . I usually only see her for dinner because she spends all of her time there. Disney also offers a club for kids and another one for tweens. There is a nursery on board, as well, available at an additional charge.

While my daughter was at the teen club I attended a mixology class, watched a little bit of Mulan on the pool deck while snacking on some pizza, listened to an amazing violin player in the ship’s atrium and spent some time relaxing in our stateroom.

Later that night we had dinner at Animator’s Palette, one of the ships main dining rooms. Disney Cruise Line ships have three main dining rooms that guests rotate through each night. The great part is that your servers rotate with you si each night they are prepared to cater to your needs whether it’s being mindful of an allergy or having your preferred beverage waiting for you when arrive for dinner.

Animator’s Palette is a favorite among Disney Cruise Line fans. Last night we had Crush join us throughout the meal on screens located throughout the restaurant. Crush interacts with guests in real time making for a fun entertaining experience for guests of all ages!

When we returned to our room our stateroom attendant had turned our room down for bedtime. Each night the stateroom attendants create different towel and blanket creatures with a few chocolates. Such a fun surprise to find at the end of each day.

I just checked into the Beach Club at Disney World for a one night stay before boarding the Disney Fantasy tomorrow for a 4-night Bahamian cruise. The Beach Club is one of my favorite resorts because of its proximity to Epcot, it’s amazing pool, and the pretty pastel and beach-themed decor. The Beach Club is a Deluxe Resort which means guests receive extended evening hours on select nights, in addition to early entry to the theme parks. Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts also have exclusive access to purchase Disney’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass which allows guests to skip the lines of attractions at the theme parks without needing to reserve a return time.

Calling all Princess fans!! 👸🏼

1900 Park Fare is a character dining buffet experience located at the Grand Floridian that features a great cast of characters. When I was there recently we met Cinderella, Tiana, Mirabel and Aladdin. This restaurant uses one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. I highly recommend this restaurant if you have a princess lover in your travel party and if you love delicious dessert! 😋

🍔Let’s talk about the Disney Dining Plan! 🥗

One of my favorite parts of a Walt Disney World vacation is getting to choose from all of the amazing and unique dining experiences - from character dining meals to casual table service dining with incredible atmospheres to signature dining with high-end food and service.

Walt Disney World offers two optional pre-purchased meal plans that guests can add-on to the Disney Resort Hotel Package.

Guests who opt-in to the Disney Dining Plan receive a resort refillable mug good for refills for the length of their stay from the beverage station at any resort quick service restaurant, as well as one credit per night of stay for each of the following: a quick service meal, a table service meal and a snack/ non-alcoholic beverage. Beverages are included with each meal (including one alcoholic beverage for guests 21+).

Guests who opt-in to the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan receive a resort refillable mug for the length of their stay, two quick service meals per night of stay and one snack/ non-alcoholic beverage per night of stay. Beverages are included with each meal (including one alcoholic beverage for guests 21+).

I recently returned from a Walt Disney World trip where I purchased the Disney Dining Plan. Based on the restaurants I chose, I found the Disney Dining Plan to be a great value.
