01/22/25: Even though much of the country is in the deep freeze, we hit -44 at our office 2 days ago (our neighbors at the Covered Wagon Ranch hit almost -50!). It is time to start planning for your summer adventures!

Over the next month is the best time to book your guided backpacking adventure with us! This is the month, where we put together our schedule, secure the best campsites and get the treks planned.

By booking now, we can secure the trek you want to do on the dates you want to go.

We will also be scheduling some group trips throughout the summer for people to book. You can also give us some ideas of where you would like to go to start a group trip on your dates.

Don't forget the family treks. Every year we are taking more and more families into the backcountry for a night or two under the stars. We have taken kids in as young as 4 years old, and every kid has really loved the experience.

We have all of the gear you need, expert guides, and great menus, which our guides prepare for you around the fire.

07/18/21: A couple of critters that are rare to see in Yellowstone, and in typical Yellowstone fashion, one is getting eaten. Here is a boreal toad getting eaten by a garter snake. Other wildlife on our 2nd Lower Loop included elk, bison, moose (1), pelicans and mule deer. Geysers included Cliff, Lion and Old Faithful. Another nice quiet day in the park, the past 3 days have been quite enjoyable with fewer people than normal. We are ready for the crowds to hit again on Monday, as Mondays and Tuesdays have been the busiest in the park this year.
