It's going to be a great Weekend in Pensacola! 🇺🇸 The weather forecast looks incredible for the unofficial kickoff of summer 😎 Here are a few reminders if you plan on hitting the beach this weekend👇

👣 Leave only your footprints! Trash, boogie boards, chairs, floats, tents, etc. must not be left on the beach.

🌊 Beware of rip currents. Rip currents are the greatest danger to beach patrons and account for more than 80% of water rescues performed by surf rescue lifeguards. ALWAYS follow the beach flags and swim near a lifeguard. Rip currents typically appear as darker, narrow gaps of water heading offshore between areas of breaking waves and whitewater. Remember that if you see something, say something.

🐢 It's sea turtle nesting season, so knock down those sand castles and fill in any holes.

☀️ Feelin' hot hot hot! It's practically summer, so stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take breaks from the sun.

We are flying Red flags this morning due to strong rip currents and colder water conditions making the water closed to the public for wading or swimming for now. The risk of rip currents is very high and the water is very cold and can lead to rapid onset of hypothermia🥶!!!! We always advise that you exercise caution when entering the water regardless of surf.
