Happy Birthday to 2015 inductee Reverend F.C. Barnes, born on this day in 1929 in Nash County, NC. He was a gospel singer who began singing at 14 and received a Doctorate of Divinity degree from United Christian College in Goldsboro. In 1979, he recorded "It's Me Again, Lord" with Reverend Janice Brown, leading to a recording contract with AIR Records. Reverend F.C. Barnes received several awards including the North Carolina Folk Heritage Award and was inducted into the International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the American Gospel Quartet Convention Hall of Fame. He passed away in City of Greenville, NC - Government on July 11, 2011, after over 50 years of preaching at Red Budd Holy Church.
