Review of the Virgin Voyages Scarlett Lady

Registration and testing went smoothly. They have clearly rehearsed this process well and have worked out any delays. Our show time was 2:15 and we were in our cabin by 3:00. Our luggage arrived within minutes.

The Sea Terrace cabin was the nicest balcony cabin we have ever seen. Technology is a big part of the experience, when we opened the cabin door, the curtains on the balcony opened automatically. Everything in the cabin is controlled by a tablet; lights (to include mood lighting), HVAC, curtains, and the fully on demand TV. There are touchscreens present inside and outside of the cabin door to use to communicate needs to the staff. Yes there is a doorbell too.

Not being oriented to the ship, we sat to eat at the first venue we found. The Dockside menu had small plates available, the waiter suggested we order one of each, so we did. The first experience with food on-board was great although we could not do the octopus bites.

Upon further exploration of the ship we found the other venues. For dinner the first night we had reservations at Razzle Dazzle. Neither of us realized it was a vegetarian restaurant, but made the best of it. Another sailor received a steak. We were told it was from the “secret menu”, so we need to remember that for next time.

We did eat at each of the venues, except the Korean BBQ, only because we could not get a reservation. All of the food enjoyed was above average for the industry. We both enjoyed Pink Agave the most.

As far as shows we did attend Duel Reality. This was a great show, and is highly recommended. I could only assume the others were of equal quality, but we were unable to get a reservations for them (app).

The Spa massage was of the best we have ever received either on or off a cruise ship. I did however have to make the reservation in person as the App kept timing out while trying.

We did the Mayan Wellness Experience while in Costa Maya. We recommend it. It was a very relaxing and spiritual experience.

The Beach Club at Bimini is a paradise. It is truly a missing gem in the vacation industry that Hilton and Virgin now have in their toolbox.

The app did work well for room service. Nothing like clicking a few buttons on the phone and having gummy bears delivered. Yes they deliver gummy bears, but we did order more.

Even the disembarkation was flawless. Unlike other lines where you are forced to be out of the cabin and sit somewhere. We took our time, ate breakfast, returned to the cabin to freshen up and walked off the ship without any wait at all.

The only negative for the entire experience is the app. It continues to fail and is the main reason for the inability to get reservations for the items missed. But taking the entire experience into consideration, this is minor, and will surely be worked out.

Virgin Voyages has exceed all expectations in cruising, and we are already in the process of booking our next voyage.
