Today we had the privilege of visiting a local’s home where we learned about daily life and also had “coffee and cake” - translate to wine and cake with a tasting of eight varieties!
He entertained us with music, stories of his sons and showed us part of his beautiful home.

We were supposed to go to the Dominican Republic - but cruises can change itineraries anytime!

Happy New Year from Vacations by Gretchen!!
We ran some numbers for 2024 ---
Last year. clients visited 34 countries and six continents! From Japan to Tahiti to Croatia to Ireland.
Mexico was again the top destination, and cruises continue to be in high demand - both river and ocean!
Big birthday celebrations, families and couples traveling together, and wedding travel were all part of the mix!
Now that the new year is here, where do YOU want to go in 2025?

Simply the most beautiful theater I have ever seen!

Spent a couple days in “windy Welly”
Home of Weta Workshop - an incredible peek into the magic of the studios, the biggest mussels I have ever seen, and the New Zealand Museum - 6 floors of history including a WWI exhibit with sculptures made by - you guessed it - Weta
Also home to winds so strong they divert needed flights to get to Australia

Incredible Rotorua - a small town with BIG adventures!
Geothermal springs, Maori culture, geysers, ziplining, glow worm caves and rafting the highest commercial waterfall - 23 foot high Tutea Falls
Calm night kayaking in caves one night to multi waterfall adventures next day..
See comments on how the waterfall ended for us.....

Such a beautiful, clean, safe city with kind people and amazing food!
Heading south now to Matamata and Hobbiton!
