Any guest traveling to Lake Titicaca in Peru most likely has their sights set on a visit to the famed Uros Islands. And while tourism has become a way of life for many of the Uros people, we think it is important to maintain authenticity surrounding these visits. With Titilaka, visitors can rest assured their time in the islands is curated to be both genuine and educational—and of course, very private with no gawking tourist crowds. This beautiful image depicts what guests of Titilaka can expect during their visit to the Uros Islands. 🌾🛖🐟

Introducing our newest property: Tinajani by Andean. There is lesser-known Peru, and then there is Tinajani Canyon. This exclusive tented camp takes advantage of one of Peru’s least visited natural wonders, the Tinajani Canyon. A beautiful natural canyon sometimes compared to the American Southwest, this area is rich in Andean cultural significance and modern outdoor exploration. At 3,895 meters (12,900 feet) above sea level, this is Andean’s highest property—which lends even more ambiance to the surreal natural sandstone towers and arches along the Tinajani River. It is no surprise that this area holds significant spiritual meaning for the local Quechua people, and guests of Tinajani have the opportunity to be visitors in this mystical energy and even participate in traditional ceremonies during their stay.

Umbrella for two at Hotel Aguas Claras? ⛱✅🍹 Located right on the sand on Costa Rica's beautiful Caribbean Coast, DaLime Beach Club at this trendy hotel is so cool, they've made spending time here its own verb: 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. With live local music, reggae and themed nights, and a menu that includes pineapple angus beef burgers and ceviche, we wish we too were "liming" it up this weekend!

Pssst: travelers won't want to miss the NEW weekend brunch available at DaLime from 11-3pm, either!

This isn't your standard avocado toast! Pictured here is an item off the breakfast menu at Estancia Cristina. ☕️🍓🤤 Almost too beautiful to bite into, this masterpiece is just one sampling of the food served here in Los Glaciares National Park. The beautiful sheepskin blanket casually adds an air of "we're in Argentina," while you know the view out the window of Octogono Main Lodge beckons guests to get out into the elements and seize the day.

Lake Nicaragua isn't just a nice spot for breakfast. It's one of the most notable bodies of water in Central America! It is the largest lake in Central America at 3,191 square miles—walloping the second largest lake in terms of size, Lake Izabal in Guatemala at only 227 square miles. It is home to over 400 islands, including two which were formed by volcanoes, and is a key part of the economy in Nicaragua.

Luckily, plans originating in 2013 that would have created a canal through the country by way of Lake Nicaragua have collapsed—and the diverse ecosystems surrounding this body of water will for now remain protected. In our opinion, there is no better way to experience this beautiful lake–and celebrate its continued existence–than with a stay at Jicaro Island. 🌿⛵️🐟

Did you know? The suites at Awasi Atacama are the only "round" accommodations in the CK portfolio. Designed in the original style of the pre-Columbian Atacameño (or Lickan Antay) people, who have inhabited the Atacama Desert for thousands of years, each of the 12 suites is a genuine nod to this authentic architectural style. In particular this shape was chosen for wind resistance and thermal regulation. Today, guests of Awasi Atacama can enjoy these benefits and more—including an unwitting sense of grounding this circular space often inspires. 😌🛖✍🏼

Anyone who has observed hummingbirds in person can attest that it's impossible to enjoy this much detail with the naked eye! Photographers have the best chance of "freezing" these frenetic beauties in flight to really soak in their magnificence. 🪶📸🌿 Luckily, you don't need to be a professional photographer to do so at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo. Here, over 311 bird species have been documented to date—including the Chestnut-breasted Coronet pictured here. Any walk through the on-site gardens might reveal this species or many more, and a standard zoom lens could result in a photo as beautiful as this one.

Awasi Patagonia's 14 villas are scattered across this private hillside overlooking the staggering Torres del Paine—undoubtedly one of the most iconic natural landscapes in the world. But did you know that Torres del Paine means "Towers of Blue" in the Tehuelche language? 🏔📸💙 With so many turquoise lakes dotting this region, overhung with glaciers and blue skies high above the rushing wind–and of course the hue of the granite towers themselves–there is no shortage of cyan in this region.

The Tehuelche language is critically endangered (unlike Quechua found throughout northern South America) which we think makes this little-known fact particularly poignant.

Today on the anniversary of losing our founder, Clark, we want to offer a huge and sincere 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 to all of our friends in the travel community for your unwavering love and support this past year. From the paddle out with Clark's closest friends in California the week of his passing, to his beautiful Celebration of Life, to the many awards and recognitions so thoughtfully presented in his honor over the past year; we are in awe of the continued outpouring of love Clark has received. We know that this is just another testament to the impact El Jefe had and will continue to have into the very distant future.

Let's continue to today, and every day.

The coffee tasting experience at Senda Monteverde is a classic. After all, what is more Costa Rican than a hot cup of coffee, grown right on site? From a guided tour of the plantation to a leisurely, educational tasting, this short excursion can be booked either shared or private for your travelers. It pairs nicely with a birdwatching excursion or sustainability tour, or of course an iconic hike on some of Costa Rica's most epic suspension bridges. ☕️🌿🥾 Although those afraid of heights might want to skip a second cup of coffee before taking to the canopy. 😉

The thick, sillar walls of CIRQA in Arequipa, Peru serve to ground and embrace visitors who are all too often caught up in the go-go-go of life and travel itineraries, too. Each of the 11 rooms, which are divided into three categories, offers this one-of-a-kind setting within the larger context of the former monastery dating back to the founding of the city in 1540. In contrast throughout this Relais & Châteaux property, guests will enjoy the open-air, rooftop "El Techo de CIRQA" restaurant as well as shared plunge pool and beautifully appointed common areas. ☀️🥃💨

We normally associate bird watching in Central and South America with small, colorful hummingbirds or parrots that punctuate the green canopy overhead. This Yellow-headed Caracara photographed at Kurà reminds us that there are birds of prey in these parts, as well! 🦅🙌🏼

This adaptable raptor makes its home from Costa Rica down into South America, more often choosing open grasslands and even urban environments to hunt its prey. This tendency away from heavily foliaged areas makes a sighting in the Marino Ballena National Park region even more unique.
