Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort Adults only-
This was our second time coming to this resort. Our first time was right after Covid and it has changed drastically!! Obviously by the pictures- it’s just as beautiful as I remember, but there were certain things that changed which ultimately would cause us not to come here anymore 😞
They have 2 “tiers” at this resort. You either pay for the regular travel with no upgrades (which is what we did this time) OR you can upgrade to “Level.” Level guests honestly get treated MUCH better then the regular non upgrading guests which is unfortunate. We felt like we didn’t belong and were peasants honestly lol. Level guests get access to certain restaurants and bars that other guests do not, certain areas on the beach, and beach service. (We did pull one of the beach bartenders over and tipped them well and they kept coming back to see what else we wanted (even though they weren’t supposed to.) The resort is HUGE and you have to take a golf cart whenever going to the lobby (where most of the restaurants are). There was more then one occasion where we were standing in line for the golf cart and were next up to get on and they made us GET OFF to take the level guests that were behind us. 😳 Definitely a bad taste. Our whole group of 17 (pretty much!) had issues with their room. Keys wouldn’t work after a couple days in, toilets not working, roof leaking, fridges not cold, our fridge had a short in it and Seth got shocked taking a beer out (yikes). Could have been bad!

The food was actually very good!! Better than a lot of resorts we have been to. Which we’ve never actually had BAD food at resorts. It’s always just “resort quality food” (if you have been to all inclusive..you know what I mean). But this food was really good! The steaks at a few of the places were over the top good! We actually went off resort one night next door and went to a place called “Jellyfish.” It was expensive but outstanding! I highly recommend!

All in all, it was a beautiful resort just like I remembered and the food was great, plenty of room in the rooms, but this will probably be the last time we come to Melia. I just don’t like how they treat the non level guests.

REVIEW ON DISNEY RESORT:
Disney’s Coranado Springs
Let me start by saying the only reason we had to switch resorts with only 2 days left in our trip was because our whole vacation got pushed back by 2 days because of the hurricane and Disney’s pop century did not have our room available for the remaining 2 nights. This resort was a lot more upscale of a resort. Definitely nicer, more spacious rooms, better grounds. It reminded us of a resort in Mexico that we have stayed before. Very fancy. There was even a wedding going on outside when we got there. I felt like this was a much larger resort and a lot of walking to get certain places (could have been where our room was positioned too). It definitely wasn’t as kid oriented (color and character wise) as Disney’s pop was. Although, they did have a very nice pool with a water slide the kids could go down which they loved! (They liked this pool better then pop century). They have an arcade and a playground as well for the kids. There’s a bar that serves food and drinks right inside where the pool is located (all with mobile ordering). A couple things I disliked is that Disney’s Coranado Springs does not use the skyliner. It is bus transportation to all the parks. Another is that there was no table and chairs for the kids to eat at. There’s just the long desk with 1 chair. So we had to eat on the beds 🤣 Seth liked this resort better and I think I would prefer pop 🙂 I hope this helps!! ❤️❤️

REVIEW ON DISNEY RESORT:
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Such a cute little kid oriented place with ALL the big Disney statues and vibrant colors! There were about 5-6 different buildings all in different centuries. One was 50’s theme, 60’s theme, 70’s (so on and so forth). All of them with different characters and themes from that time. There were 2 pools.. the main pool and a little kiddie pool. It had a large gift shop, an arcade, a food court, a bar near the pool, a little playground for kids, and a little hair braiding and Henna station. Pop Century was nice because you could hop on their skyliner that takes you to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. You only take the bus transportation to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. I will say the skyliner was a lot more convenient. The rooms at Pop Century were TINY! Not much room to move around in. The crib fit okay inside but our double stroller would have never fit in the room unfolded. There was room under the bed for our suitcases and the second queen bed was a “hideaway” bed within the wall. When you would fold the bed back up- there was a table underneath that the kids ate breakfast at. The room size didn’t bother me as much only because we were there to sleep only. We were at the parks from basically open to close most days. All in all I liked Pop Century and would go back!

SURPRISE DISNEY WORLD trip starts tomorrow morning bright and early for our family! (My kids have NO idea!) I will not be posting regularly on here until we return on 10/20.
