Meet Jodi Oechsle! Jodi joined Krafty Travel in 2017 as a Disney vacation planner. Since 2021 she has expanded her business to the rest of the world, booking trips for Krafty Travel’s guests all over the globe. It is a myth that if you are getting married at an all inclusive resort you will not have any additional costs. The all inclusive resort covers food and beverages for your stay, yes. But your special events are outside of the normal staffing, meal preparation, presentation, serving, etc. You are essentially booking a private event and will have costs associated with food and beverage, staff, AV, DJ, officiant, event decor, to name a few. There are ways to reduce your costs. It is important to work with someone that understands the wedding packages and room block contracts that the resorts and tour operators offer. Not all locations are created equal. We need to marry your dream wedding location with the best operator for group rates so that we can maximize your wedding budget and your guest's travel budget. This one is big. You need a passport book for international AIR travel. Do not get a passport card. It is only valid for travel to Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and Bermuda for travel by LAND or SEA. A passport BOOK is valid for all types of international travel; air, land and sea. Just get the book, it is a better value in my opinion.
If I ask you if you have your passport book, and it is a passport CARD, please do not say yes. You will not make it to your destination by air. 🛫

If your passport has been significantly damaged, especially the book cover or the page displaying your personal data and photo, you will need to apply for a new passport. Damage that might require you to replace your passport includes water damage, a significant tear, unofficial markings on the data page, missing visa pages (torn out), a hole punch, or other injuries.

Normal "wear and tear" of a U.S. passport is expected and does not count as "damage." Normal wear includes the bend of a passport after being carried in your back pocket or fanning of the visa pages after extensive opening and closing.

Did you know you should have at least 4 empty passport pages when you travel abroad? Some countries require you to have 2 or 4 blank passport pages to enter, and airlines can deny boarding if you do not have enough. If you travel alot, you can request a larger, 52 page passport instead of the standard 28 page passport on the passport application. How many blank pages do you have?

It is travel tip Tuesday! Over the next few weeks we will share some passport tips. First up, did you know that many countries, including most European countries require that your passport be valid for 6 months beyond your return travel date. Regardless of the country requirement, many airlines stick with the 6 month rule for ease of clarification, and can deny you boarding if your passport is not valid far enough out. If you have a trip on the horizon, make sure you check your expiration date!

You were supposed to be traveling, but life came up and you had to cancel. Were you covered? We offer travel insurance with every travel plan we create. Do you have to take it? No.
No one PLANS on canceling. Everyone says they are going "no matter what!"
But then life happens.

Insurance typically covers pre-travel cancellations for covered reasons (and there are many), during travel issues like lost bags or missed flights and emergency medical while you are traveling. Emergency medical is THE biggest reason you should consider in my opinion, because those costs can be quite high.

Insurance is relatively inexpensive compared to what you may be spending on your trip. Generally, the cost is based on your age and your trip costs. Usually the best benefit is available to you if you book within 15 to 21 days of your trip deposit, but we can offer you a policy almost all the way up to your departure.
