Countdown to Faerie Fest!! We are so excited and happy to have fun with all of you! I listed on the poster some of the things that will be happening (some different things on both days), so come and enjoy.
This is a FREE EVENT, Saturday June 22nd & Sunday June 23rd from 10am to 5pm :)) We are located at 11077 Highway 124 in South River, Ontario, P0A1X0 (Crystal Cave can be typed into GPS) 🩷
There will be Faerie Food & many vendors so if you feel like supporting local artisans I am sure they will all appreciate it 🙂 Come dressed (no matter your age!), as your favourite Mythical Creature or Faerie (or come as a banana, it’s all for fun!)
Park at the High school across the street and shuttle buses will take you to and from Faerie Fest as our Crystal Cave parking lot isn’t big enough for all you Faeries 🧚🏽‍♀️🧚🏾🧚🏼‍♂️

Meet the head dancers at this coming weekend's Dokis First Nation Annual Traditional Pow Wow. Held June 22 and 23 at the Giiwejwan Traditional Grounds the theme of the pow wow is honouring youth.

Head Dancer Spotlight

Mckenzie Ottereyes-Eagle & Shania White

Mckenzie is from Waswanipi Cree Nation, Quebec and resides in North Bay, Ontario. He is working with Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board as an Indigenous Grad Coach and is attending Nipissing University for Teachers College this September 2024. Mckenzie has graduated from Canadore College in the Indigenous Wellness and Addiction Prevention program and recently graduated from Nipissing University with a Bachelors of Arts in Indigenous Studies. Mckenzie been dancing for 12 years all across Turtle Island! He is a well renowned champion Traditional Dancer.

Shania is from Grassy Narrows First Nation and resides in North Bay, Ontario. She is currently working at the North Bay Regional Health Centre as a Registered Nurse. Shania obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Lakehead University in 2021. Shania has recently started dancing and since then has traveled across Turtle Island to share her style of dance. She is a Jingle Dress dancer.

Dokis First Nation is very please & honoured to have Mckenzie & Shania take the role as our Head Dancers for our 22nd Annual Traditional Pow Wow! Come out & watch them share their style of dance next weekend in Dokis First Nation at the Giiwejwan Traditional Grounds, June 22 & 23, 2024

I do my best to give our guests the best vacation @ MLPC they ever had . Got it made ?? It certailly has had it's ups & downs
During my 81 years I have seen a lot of changes .Mostly good. Some ifie?? and some not so good. Overall ,you might say "I got it made" Not only is the above my thinking .Also my some of my guests tell me that this was some of the best fishing/"Catching"that they ever had. Thats my story and I am sticking to it .Johnny m

Algonquin Park closures over the Christmas break - heads up!

The Algonquin Provincial Park Visitor Centre, West Gate, and East gate will be closed on December 24th, and 25th for the Holidays.

East and West Gates will open with regular hours on the 26th. The Visitor Centre will be closed on the 26th and will re-open on the 27th.
