It’s been a long 6.5 months but it’s a day to celebrate. Reaching the goal of losing 30lbs before Iditarod. It’s had its ups and downs, its struggles, and just down right times I wanted to quit. But after getting on the scale twice a day for more than 6 months we did it!!! Eating healthy, eating less, working out, jogging long miles regularly, sticking to a schedule, a schedule both in life and work, and not indulging in “as much” fun stuff. Here we are, more fit than I’ve even been in my life! Iditarod 2025 here we come!

Looking forward to having Ashley and crew on the glacier again!

The dogs are getting ready to head to the Mendenhall Glacier once again with Ashley to give tours to guests and show off their amazing athleticism. A big thank you to our friends Torsten and Peggy for building us new trailer boxes so the dogs can ride comfortably, and in style on their way to Juneau 😎

Go Dogs Go! Matt and the Aces (along with a few other teams!) are currently camped out on their way to the coast! It's fun to see on the trackers when there is a handy shelter cabin or open creek that draws all the mushers to one spot for a camp.
Now with mandatory rest besides White Mountain completed for everyone neat the front of the pack, the race is going to go fast. Ticking down the last 300 miles of the race, I will be on a flight tomorrow evening to catch the Aces in Nome for whenever they come trotting through the finish line! It is such a tight race, its going to be an exciting time in Nome as those teams start rolling in one after another in a few days time!
After Unalakleet Matt and Team will make their way to Shaktoolik. A notoriously windy run and with the predicted storm, there will be some incredible stories for the mushers to tell I have no doubt! As I write this, the wind is even picking up for us here in the interior, brr! On from there, rough winds will turn to tricky ice as they all trot on to Nome. Let the fun begin!
