Federal Government to Block Hunting Lands

We need to fight federal overreach and protect hunting access!

Last April, the Department of the Interior quietly announced the request to close millions of acres of federal public lands to all non-local hunters for moose and caribou. The public voiced their concern at a telephone town hall. Thanks in part to the public outcry, the DOI decided to defer pursuing this anti-hunting policy.

In a new press release this week, the DOI announced another telephone meeting to receive public input to pursue the same anti-hunting policy that could close 60 million acres of public land to hunting.

Stand up and fight! We can't let the anti's win! California wants to close black bear hunting and we must oppose this. World of Hunting Adventure consultant, Olivia Opre, went to this website and wrote the below; we hope you'll help the California hunters too! https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billCommentsClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220SB252

Decision: Generate money from legal black bear hunting to enhance an ecosystem, control the black bear population & protect the black bear from poaching -OR- have CA tax payers pay for sharp shooters to control a population and kill the black bear anyway?
One way or another the black bear must be managed/killed -partially to ensure the safety of CA residents when the population gets out of control (I suggest you fully research what happened as a result of closing mountain lion hunting).
As a former California resident, I know the population of black bear is the strongest it's been in history that must be responsibly managed, which includes the legal hunting of the species. Money generated from the sale of hunting licenses will help to enhance habitat & pay for game wardens who can help prevent poaching & protect the bear.
Alternatively, should you decide to close hunting black bear, they will still need to be managed/killed which will cost California tax-payers.
Instead, why not consider reintroducing the Grizzly Bear? This is the animal on the CA flag, but were exterminated in the early 1900's. I know there are several mountain states who have an overpopulation of the Grizzly Bear and wouldn't mind translocating a few.
Know this; the Humane Society is an emotion-driven organization who do not practice true science in the whole ecosystem approach to wildlife management.
