And we’re off.. I get asked quite often how to handle long travel days. Well, while I do have some tricks that have worked for me in the past, sometimes it just isn’t fun to be on flights over 8 hours and not be able to sleep. If you’re going on a tour abroad, or a River Cruise I highly recommend going a day or two prior to get yourself used to the 6-8 hour time change and recover from the flights.
We have arrived in Porto Portugal and are already loving the fresh seafood, friendly people, beautiful countrysides and high quality wine for 2-3 Euros!

How did the London Bridge end up in Arizona? We were driving from Las Vegas to Lake Havasu AZ today to visit with some friends and saw signs for the “London Bridge ” In 1968, an American tycoon Robert McCulloch bought London Bridge—all 10,000 tons of it—and moved it brick-by-brick to the desert town of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Amazing to see this bridge and imagine installing it brick by brick (they numbered them so they could get it back together correctly)

After 33 years as a travel agent, every day is a new day to learn something new, and form new partnerships with the best in the business. Today I spent breakfast listening to Madeleine Schroder from Basecamp Afromaxx. If you’ve always wanted to do an African safari, but you want an authentic experience where the tour guides go where you want and not just drive in a circle .. I have the tour for you. (And me- I really need to experience this myself!) Madeleine lives in Tanzania and has the first hand knowledge to make your experience the trip of a lifetime.

I highly recommend the Sphere experience in Las Vegas. The postcard from earth production was amazing. The robots in the atrium were a bit creepy, but also very interesting!

Seaweed/sargassum is never preferred but can happen. It is the “sea” after all. Resorts do their best to clean it up and/or have a barrier to keep it away from the swimming areas. The sea has a life of its own, maybe that’s why I love it so much. Yesterday the waves were high and surf-able, the colors went from deep dark blue to dark turquoise to light turquoise back to dark turquoise and then crashed into the shore with a Sandy hue. Today is much windier and it is rough choppy water as far as your eye can see with mostly dark blue and dark turquoise colors. It’s a great view for resetting your mindset. #wantaexperience #travel #surf @hyattzilaracanc
The sea was wild today. The sand is soft and sugary and feels smooth as you walk. Not many sea shells to find, but I will keep looking. The temps are getting warmer each day we are here. My skin is loving the humidity and feels like it was infused with collagen. I gained several pounds already despite visiting the gym, but that means the food is excellent. If I tried I could find some complaints but we can do that anywhere. People treat you how you treat them, ask a more personal question vs. “how are you” and they will open up. God is present in the beautiful creation here. Palm trees, hibiscus 🌸, orchids, pineapple sage, honeysuckle, morning glory. #wantaexperience
