Goose Chase Cake Design is a small scale pastry company Based in Central Vermont specializing in cake decorating. I will create anything from a four tier wedding cake to a simple brownie platter. Having upwards of 8 years experience of baking in Vermont and in the Bay Area, California.

I’ve been taking the last week and a half to really unplug and think very little about cake. It’s honestly been amazing and very needed.
As I get back into the kitchen this weekend I am thinking forward to Thanksgiving, the whole holiday season and preparing for summer 2025. I start back with tasting this weekend and can’t wait to see what couples have for inspiration this time around.
I absolutely love this cake I made a little while back for a wedding vendor meet up and feel like it really encompasses that direction I want to take my design esthetic . Whimsy, colorful, fun and full of life! Thank you to for the gorgeous photos along with for planning the whole event together. It felt great to connect with my fellow wedding industry professionals!

Holy Cow, I have almost made it completely through my busy season (more on that later) 🤣😀😴
Anyways, I am popping on here this morning to say I will be taking a little stick season break from next Sunday 10/20 to Wednesday 11/6. I can’t wait to have a time to reflect on my season and start gearing up for the holidays/next summer. Thank you all for all of your support!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Sarah made dessert for our wedding at Lareau Farm and she was amazing to work with. I wanted a vintage-style, heart-shaped cake, and she brought my vision to life perfectly. Not only was our cake delicious (we chose vanilla summertime), but she also made THE BEST donuts that we served as a late-night snack. I highly recommend Sarah if you’re looking for a cake designer/wedding dessert caterer.”

Just waiting to be all dressed up! 💃💃
Wow what a fun weekend in cakes. It’s not often I have multiple three tiers in a weekend and Saturday I had 3! So grateful for all of my couples. I just love making beautiful things out of butter, sugar, eggs and flour!
I will slowly be slowing the finishing of each one throughout this week. I am certain in the messy middle of wedding season and starting to feel the fatigue set in, but seeing every cake set up and in its place gives me such a thrill. Here is to the second half of the season being at fun as the first.

Our Story

The Goose Chase Cake Design is a full service cake design and dessert company. We specialize in custom designed wedding and special occasion cakes. We also build the delectable dessert tables if cake isn't your style.

With well tested recipes, each cake is made entirely from scratch using fresh, all natural ingredients. The simple ingredients of butter, sugar, flour, eggs, and cream turn into the most glorious cake layers and fillings. With well balanced layers of flavors, and a cloud like swiss meringue buttercream. We create cakes that aren't too sweet and are a perfect end to a magical event.

Located in the Mad River Valley, Vermont we are surrounded by a beautiful landscape and have the opportunity to work with all of the amazing caterers and event spaces located in this little valley.
