What a great trip! Where are you dreaming of going?
BACK WHEN I WAS about 14-years-old, my family took a trip up to the Great Northwest. We deep sea fished in the ocean off the coast of Washington State, ate fish & chips at a food stand on the wharf, drove up to British Columbia and took a ferry over to Vancouver Island.
From there, drove up into the mountains, saw a lake in the clouds that was so still and crystal clear that the surface looked like a mirror and we could see the clouds that were enveloping the mountain peaks reflecting in the water.
We then drove back to Washington State and down into Oregon and walked along the beach, picking up driftwood and exploring shipwrecks and afterwards ventured further south into Oregon and walked in a rain forest where the roots of the trees were so thick that the ground thundered like a big bass drum as we walked on it and the trees on each side of us reached up and touched the sky like skyscrapers.
Next, we visited the mighty Redwoods of Northern California then went down to the Sequoia National Forest on the western slopes of in the Sierra Nevada in east-central California, U.S.A. near Kings Canyon National Park and Mount Whitney.
I had never seen anything so awe-inspiring or majestic. Trees that were thousands of years old and the tallest and the biggest in the world. I felt as if I was swimming in the winds of time ... ❤
