Carnival Cruise Line Announces New Schedule from Port of Mobile
Carnival Cruise Line and city of Mobile, Alabama, announced Wednesday that the company would begin operating a year-long schedule of four- and five-day cruises to Mexico starting in fall 2016.
The ship assigned to the port will be the Carnival Fantasy, and it will be sailing out of the Mobile Cruise Terminal. Before the vessel is put back into service, though, it will undergo a massive refurbishment project in dry dock.
The 2,056-passenger ship will undergo a multi-million-dollar facelift. Some of the additions being made include Guy’s Burger Joint (developed with Food Network star Guy Fieri,) two poolside watering holes—the RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar—and the BlueIguana Cantina Mexican-themed restaurant. --
a massive spa, a water park, an adults-only retreat, casino gambling and more.
The Carnival Fantasy’s schedule from Mobile will begin officially on Nov. 9, 2016, and will continue through Nov. 27, 2017.
For the four-day trips, the ship will take passengers on a journey to the island of Cozumel, and the five-day voyages will sail to Costa Maya or Progreso.
