Wow - thank you is not enough to express our appreciation for the enthusiasm and support shown over the past few weeks for our production of A Christmas Story the Musical. We truly are a community theatre and could not do it without you!

Happiest of holidays from the cast and crew to our volunteers, the Decatur Civic Center, our patrons, and community members who supported this show. Thank you for taking time to enjoy some magical moments with us and see you next show!

Good to know!
To help the bees during the summer months there are fewer flowers and other food sources for the bees.
Water is also scarce and so many bees drown as they try to drink from the pools.
Grate an apple and add some water to a bowl.
The bees will be able to get the sugars from the fruit and drink the water and not drown as they can stand on the pieces of fruit.
Our bee populations are threatened, let's give them all the support we can.
Thank you 🙏 for them 🐝

There's a little girl in my son Nicholas's class. I'll call her "E." Nicholas and E just met this year in Kindergarten. They like to play outside together. They like to sit by each other in school. They even like to hold hands. You may think this is a typical friendship story. A cute little love story. You may think you've already heard this story before. But this is different. This is a story of inclusion, acceptance, and kindness.
Nicholas has autism and is in the special education class at a public school. He spends most of his day in therapies and learning life skills to help him be as independent as he can. Throughout the day, he spends time in the general education Kindergarten class. He participates in Morning Circle time with them where they read books, learn the letters of the alphabet, dance and sing songs. Nicholas also plays outside at recess with them. This is the class that E is in.
E always sits by Nicholas. She always grabs his hand. They spend a lot of time together when they can. The most beautiful thing about their friendship is she talks to him. She talks to him even though he can't talk back. She understands he doesn't talk, but she does it anyway. This is inclusion.
E hangs out with Nicholas despite him having a disability. She wants to be friends with him even though he is different from her. This is acceptance.
E understands Nicholas can't communicate like she can. She accepts him anyway. She knows he thinks and processes things a little slower than other kids. She still gravitates toward him. This is kindness.
E is nice to Nicholas. She isn't a bully and doesn't pick on him because he is different. She doesn't treat him any less because he has autism.
E has a beautiful heart. I reached out to her mom to express my gratitude for raising such a thoughtful daughter. I learned that E talks about Nicholas all the time at home. She said she's a helper by nature, which is something Nicholas's para (teacher assistant) mentioned as well.

"If you see me in your garden, give me food and water.
Raw unsalted meat, ground meat, I also eat cat nuggets or canned meat but not with fish. Don’t give me milk cause it gives me stomach issues and I will die of dehydration. I'm naive and as soon as I see milk I drink it!
Don't throw pesticides, don't set traps... I’m definitely a danger to myself.
In the garden I help you, because I feed on all the insects and insects, that attack your vegetables.
If you see me on the street, don't run and kill me.
Help me cross the road safely and find a field or den.
My species is disappearing.
Help me to survive.......
Help and support them, they are our wonderful forest elves
