Exploration tours at Palouse Falls State Park. The falls drop 198ft and is Washington State's official falls. It is also known as Aput Aput, meaning “Falling Water,” At the end of the last ice age, repeated glacial floods, known as the Missoula Floods, swept across eastern Washington. creating the coulees, potholes, buttes, and plateaus. Palouse Falls is the only major waterfall left along this thousands-of-years-old glacial flood path.

To celebrate the return of our Exploration gang from their Hawaii cruise, the Exploration office staff is making this yummy tropical treat today. Join us on a staycation and bake your own loaf today!

HAWAIIAN BANANA BREAD INGREDIENTS

½ cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 very ripe banana mashed
1 cup crushed pineapple do not drain
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup shredded coconut
¼ cup chopped nuts (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together with a mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat to incorporate.
Stir in mashed banana and pineapple.
In a separate, medium sized bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to wet ingredients.
Stir in coconut flakes/shreds.
Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan (9x5). Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

We are also making teriyaki chicken, rice and macaroni salad!

To put the rumors to rest, Harold is not retiring yet... he is now on his pre-retirement cruise, compliments of owner Ben Dolph, as a thank you for his 10 years of service with Exploration! Hawaii, was the only state he had not been to yet. Thank you to all the Explorers that flew out today from Paine field in Everett with him and David to Honolulu. They will enjoy two nights at the Hyatt Place Waikiki before boarding the Ovation of the Seas for a 9 night cruise back to Vancouver B.C.. Have fun Harold relaxing in the hot tub at sea. Springtime in the Ozarks! There is so much more to Branson then just music. Our group of Explorers went underground at Fantastic Caverns, stayed overnight at Anglers Lodge next to the country's largest Bass Proshop, grabbed rolls fresh from the oven at Lambert's, discovered the treasures retrived from the sunken Steamboat Arabia, attended the annual Plumb Nellie Arts and Crafts Festival in historic downtown, took a guided tour of beautiful Thorncrown Chapel and a narrated Tram ride through Dogwood Canyon nature park. If you think that must be all, you are wrong. There is still two more days of fun to come. It was spring tea last weekend at the LeMay Museum Collection and Event Center. The Marymount campus was once the home of the Marymount Military Academy, run by the Sisters of St. Dominic. Also on campus is Lemay's famous collection of vintage vehicles - primarily American-made cars, trucks, buses, fire engines, motorcycles, and more. Plus a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden. Since 2014 we have been offering adventurous travelers 40 plus and their guests group travel by deluxe motor coach with rail, sea and air combos. Our tours average just 24 passengers (with some specialized tours 10 and under) giving you more time to enjoy the destination and to really get to know your fellow explorers. All we can say is "not your Grandma's tour company". We work hard to bring you the freshest and brightest experiences in a way that is fun and innovative. Our goal is to engage your interests and curiosity about the areas we visit and maybe take a route previously untraveled so you can enjoy the view and explore at your own pace. We encourage you to fall in love with the people and places around you in the ever changing environment of travel. This is your opportunity to spend quality time with your partner, your friends or just a bit of “me” time for yourself. Even if you’ve been somewhere before, you haven’t experienced it with our special “exploration” thrown in!
