You’re invited to join us for the End of the Year Teambuilding Event Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bldg. 163 High Bay Area. This is an opportunity for our team to recognize all the great successes at NNSY during 2024 as well as look forward and share our goals for 2025.
This event will include:
Opening Remarks from Shipyard Commander, Capt. Jip Mosman to celebrate 2024 NNSY wins and share 2025 goals
Lunch will be provided by NNSY MWR to include hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and a drink (while supplies last)
The NNSY MWR Larger-Than-Life Holiday Card Contest. Entries will be available to view at the event and at 12:15 p.m. contest winners will be officially announced. Please note: all applicants must submit their entries no later than COB Dec. 12 to Bldg. 163.
A pie-in-the-face contest. Those who participate in lunch will receive a ticket to vote for which NNSY Superintendents get pies to the face at 12:30 p.m.
A holiday group photo and video shoutout with Capt. Jip Mosman at 12 p.m. Everyone is invited to sport their festive holiday gear for a photo and to participate in filming our holiday shoutout to be featured on our social media platforms.
Shipyard organizations and representatives, including the employee resource groups and career counselors, will have tables on site to provide information to interested employees.
DJ-provided musical entertainment
Note there will be official photographers on site to take photos, including at a photo booth area near the Public Affairs table. No unofficial photography will be allowed on site. This includes the use of camera cell phones as per shipyard policy.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard undocked USS Toledo (SSN 769) May 15! The Los Angeles-class submarine is finishing an Engineered Overhaul with the boat reaching more than 95 percent complete on production work. Now pierside, the Toledo project and crew shift to end game jobs including moving the crew aboard, mast and periscope installation, and engine room testing.

Material and tools is one of the biggest components our folks need in order to serve our mission. As part of our Shipyard Performance Improvement Plan, improving our support to the workforce and ability to execute work, these consumable hubs create a one-stop shop close to the job sites for our employees to be able to gather what they need – when they need it.
