Let me just start out by saying, โI am so thankful.โ I have a wonderful caring wife, 3 beautiful children, a career that I could not enjoy more, an opportunity to help other families plan their vacations and a roof over our heads. However, I could not be where I am today without the support and love of my parents and the rest of my family.
Growing up there were two things that I loved the most, using my imagination and playing sports. My dad worked hard so we could have all the necessities in our lives and grow up healthy. He works in the construction field. I learned a lot from my dad. The number one thing I learned from him is to never give up and work hard every day for what you want in life. Being in construction, my dad had some tough times and would get laid off from work when there was no work to go around. However, that never stopped my dad. He always picked himself up and was out on the streets the very next day at an interview or driving around town submitting applications. My passion in high school was working for my Villageโs Park & Recreation Department working with kids in the various programs. Seeing the impact I could make in a childโs life lead me to become a Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Director.
It is so important for people to get outside and spend time in a park, a forest, the lake, the ocean, on top of a mountain, or simply in your backyard. I love working with children and families and seeing them grow. By watching my dad, I was able to learn to work hard and never give up on the dreams that you have. I am always looking for ways to improve and learn more.
Then there was my mother. She has worked so hard in her life so we could have all the extra experiences. My mother worked overtime. She had a part-time job at a retail store and a full-time job as a mother raising 4 boys. She did all of this so we could sign up for sports, activities, and extra events. She also saved that money for a yearly family vacation. It is so important to my parents that we spend quality time together as a family. This is where my second career passion comes into play. I am a kid at heart and I still love imagination. What better place to be a kid and use you imagination than Disney World. Every other year my parents would pack the mini-van (yes 4 boys and 2 parents on a 2 day 21 hour drive) and drive down to Disney World. I love driving with my kids still to this day. Its an ADVENTURE. When you a traveling, don't just think of the destination but also the journey.
