Good news! If you planted cover crop for the 2022 crop year, under most crop insurance policies you will be eligible for a $5 per acre premium discount on those acres. Just make sure your cover crop acreage was or gets reported to FSA prior to March 15th.

Agricultural producers who have coverage under most crop insurance policies are eligible for a premium benefit from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) if they planted cover crops during the 2022 crop year.

You don’t have to suffer as significant of a yield loss to still trigger a claim. If you suffered yield losses but were slightly above your yield guarantee, give us a call to see if the drop in price is enough to trigger a claim for you.

From a Farmer’s Perspective

At Knutsen Crop Insurance we understand the risks associated with farming because we are farmers as well. Gregg and his wife Stephanie operate a dairy, hay, and grain farm. Gregg started selling crop insurance over 20 years ago and has enjoyed working with farmers on their risk management ever since. Stephanie became licensed several years ago and enjoys helping farmers by looking at their crop insurance needs from her perspective as a farmer instead of as a salesperson. Personal attention and map based services are what sets our agency apart from the rest. We offer map based reporting (so much easier and farmer friendly!!!). We provide spriral bound map booklets annually, wall maps, etc.. We would love to meet and show you how easy it is to simplify your crop insurance experience through our map based services.
