So, what Is a Beer Guide? Well, we're glad you asked. A Beer Guide is the rare combination of witty, charming charisma, coupled with an extensive knowledge of beer and all its goodness, not to mention a whole lotta cool stuff about your area.
If that sounds like you and you really LOVE beer (yeah, not just drinking it - like learning about it and sharing your knowledge with others and getting paid to do it), we’re looking for you! Applicants with theater, tour guide, brewing, or improv experience are always a great fit.
Brewery Tours has been providing exclusive, educational and entertaining craft beer experiences since 2018 that feature our knowledgeable and experienced Beer Guides leading guests from around the country on guided craft beer tastings with behind-the-scenes access, local and historical anecdotes, and more. Our experiences include city Walk-a-Bouts, a fleet of Brew Buses, and our Ales on the Rails and Sips on the Susquehanna with historic railways and riverboats.

This is what family looks like.
Brewery Tours had the pleasure of witnessing breweries from around the region, including Aldus Brewing Company , Molly Pitcher Brewing Company , Back Porch Brewing Inc, @1937brewingco and Lindgren Craft Brewery, as well as volunteers from Heidelberg Hop Heads, the PA Veteran Farming Network and Iron Valley Real Estate, come to the aid of GEMS Farm when a critical surgey was scheduled for its owner during the peak of the hop harvest this season.
Instead of charging for the hops, GEMS Farm has asked for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
GEMS Farm plans on hosting additional hop harvesting days, with more information to be released on their page.

Visitors and locals alike can buy tickets that includes 3 breweries, exclusive facility tours, guided sampling, and local historical/anecdotal insight from an experienced Beer Guide that will lead each group. York County has a rich history of brewing local craft beer dating back to the founding of our country. With today’s booming craft beer industry, York is once again at the forefront, featuring multiple breweries situated throughout its rolling hills, farmland and picture-postcard main streets. The County's growth mimics that of the state: Pennsylvania is currently holds 7th place for amount of craft breweries in the nation, and holds steady at No. 1 for producing the most craft beer in the U.S.
In 2001, Glenn Smith moved to York and, along with an army of other business people, entrepreneurs, and positive agitators, led the charge of the City’s renaissance, which has included a blossoming and burgeoning craft beer scene. For more than a decade, Glenn has enjoyed his many “beercations,” visiting small, independent breweries throughout the country; hearing their stories, learning about their craft, sampling their wares, and gaining a better understanding of the variety and uniqueness of the craft beer industry.
It was Glenn’s vision to create a similar experience and opportunity for others right here in York County. Therefore, in December of 2017, Glenn created the York County Ale Trail, an exclusive, guided emersion into the established and up-and-coming breweries of York County where one can explore, learn and experience more of the York County brew scene than they could ever on their own, while enjoying a safe ride with an experienced Beer Guide, as your designated driver.
Although quality craft beer is the focal point of the tour, what truly distinguishes the York County Ale Trail is a warm and welcoming introduction to the best of what York County has to offer from its past to the present. As a bit of a history buff, Glenn has incorporated such definitive moments in our country as the Continental Congress’ adoption of the Articles of Confederation at the Yorktowne Courthouse in 1777 and the development of the York Plan by the County’s industrial leaders in 1941, which became the national defense and manufacturing model during WWII.
As for the present, YCAT has partnered with area restaurants, stores, taprooms, entertainment venues and, of course, hotels, to make a trip on the York County Ale Trail a total destination experience.
