We love the apprehensive look on our guests' faces when we whip out the Spam, then we smirk when they inhale them! Spam Musubi is just one of the surprise treats served on the !

We are glad to hear this news, the location and setting on Keauhou Bay is so amazing. And we have had good experiences at Duke's on Kauai and in Waikiki! It's a little far to include this on our tour but that's ok 😁

The famous Avocado Fries!! We serve this perfect dish on the tour at the amazing . The combination of the slightly sweet Teriyaki and the slightly spicy Sambal Aioli pair perfectly with the rich and creamy LOCAL avocado 🥑

One of our historical highlights on the Kona Walking Food Tour is our stop at the Kona Inn Restaurant! Our guests enjoy a mini Mai Tai while our guides talk about the fascinating history of the old Kona Inn Resort. Many celebrities, like John Wayne, visited this magical place!

Happy First Day of Summer! John Wayne and wife Pilar Wayne at the Kona Inn in 1954.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The Kona Inn, built in 1928, heralded the start of commercial tourism in Kona. The decision by the Inter-Island Steamship Navigation Company to place a hotel in the shadow of Hulihe’e Palace signaled a new era for the isolated and undeveloped village at Kailua. The Kona Inn had a saltwater swimming pool, tennis courts, cocktail lounge, and an unbeatable sunset view. Hula dancers, ukulele players, and singers with a Hawaiian repertoire were all in demand here.

The Kona Inn stopped housing guests in 1976. Today, a shopping complex built in the 1980s sprawls across former gardens and green laws. The best place to see the famous red roofs is from Kailua pier.

Our Food Tour guests always love the Local Fresh Catch Foster's Kitchen cooks up! This Cornmeal Crusted Fresh Catch is light, flaky, NOT greasy, and gluten free. They make EVERYTHING on this plate, including the tartar sauce and ketchup ☺️. The fries are handcut in house, and they even source local lemons (this makes a big difference to us!)
