Room service this morning was the American breakfast for one person. 😳
This easily could be shared but wanted to show how generous the portions are. Room service is included as part of the all inclusive.

Day 2-site inspection day. I started my morning with room service for breakfast since I knew it would be a long day. Then we toured 3 resorts. Ava, Hard Rock Cancun, and Unico.
I will be doing a post later on for each resort because there is so much to share and they deserve their own posts.
At each resort we were greeted with a refreshing drink and a cold scented cloth. Then we toured each resort seeing different room types, all the restaurants, the gyms, spas, pools and different meeting areas where you could host a wedding or group event.

We had lunch at Ciao in Hard Rock Cancun. It was Italian and was very good.

I’ve already been asked if I have a favorite and the answer is no. Each one is unique and offers something different.

This is one reason I take these trips. So I can learn which resort will provide the best experience for my clients.

Back at our hotel after much needed showers we met for bowling in the Vibe area. Then we ate dinner at Wai which was a Thai restaurant and was very good.

Today is our last day and we will be touring our resort, have a presentation and get some free time before our dinner this evening.

Day 1-yesterday was an easy day. Traveled to Cancun, the resort is about an hour from the airport. After checking in I walked around the resort, bought souvenirs shirts for my guys, had a gelato and relaxed. Met the group for dinner at UMO which is southern Mexican cuisine. It was very good and the restaurant was beautiful.

I’m at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya for the next 3 nights. I love when you check in they meet you outside and walk with you to a seated check in area. Very nice people and good service.

Carnival Magic Day 8-our last day at sea. After breakfast we stopped by the spa to check the specials and there was a great offer on a massage. So we treated ourselves and it was so relaxing. Then it was Groove for St Jude, which is a Carnival tradition on every cruise. They sell t-shirts and teddy bears. Our cruise raised over $12k!!
Most of our group met for the dance party and then went to lunch. Most went to Guy’s Burgers but I had a burrito from Blue Iguana.
All packed up and put our bags outside our door to be picked up.
Dinner with our group of 20. We had two tables every night. Said goodbye to our servers who were fantastic.
Then off to our final party in the atrium. It’s called a white party and everyone wears white clothing and they played fun music from the 80’s and 90’s.
This has been the best cruise!
We are now docked in Miami and I’ll be heading to the airport soon for my flight home.

Carnival Magic Day 7. Today was a sea day and we kept busy but slow enough to relax and enjoy it. After breakfast we went to the spa to see what specials they were offering. The special was a largely discounted rate to use the Thermal spa area for unlimited visits. It was so relaxing, we went twice today! Then we sat outside on the deck for awhile and had lunch with sone friends. At 3pm they had an afternoon tea.
Dinner today was elegant night which means the menu is elevated and includes lobster. I tried a new appetizer which was a cold strawberry soup. I didn’t care for it but the dessert was crème brûlée and it was amazing.
Tonight’s entertainment was a Motown singer. He was really good and my favorite so far. Then we went to the main atrium for 70’s and 80’s trivia/ dance party. I did pretty good at recognizing the songs.
Today the Carnival Celebration was cruising right behind us.
Then tonight we got the debarkation instructions. Saddest part of the trip!

Carnival Magic Day 6-St Thomas. We arrived in St Thomas very early. You can see the street and shops from your balcony. As soon as you get off the boat you just have to cross the street to find lots of souvenir shops, restaurants and even the post office. It was cloudy and began to rain but as typical in the Caribbean it only lasted a short time then it was sunny and warm.
We chose an excursion that took us on a ferry named Island Girl over to St John’s National Park Trunk Bay. On the way over our tour guide pointed out several things. There so many yachts here including Jeff Bezo’s. There was one yacht in a cove. He said 2 men bought it and installed pizza ovens. You can call on the radio and order a pizza from them. Genius!!
On Trunk Bay the water was gorgeous, however it was rough and although some people were in the water it wasn’t recommended.
Back to the ship for dinner and tonight’s entertainment the Love and Marriage show which is always one of my favorites.
Our next 2 days are sea days then we will be back in Miami on Sunday.

Carnival Magic Day 5-Saint Maarten. Today was a very good day. We did an excursion through Carnival that was a bus/boat tour. The water is just beautiful and I couldn’t believe how many yachts were here. Our tour guide said because they are close to St Barts so many yachts will start here. Many celebrities and wealthy people come to this island. There is a small airport with a short runway, the planes were so close as they flew over.
Our tour took us on the French and Dutch side. The French side is controlled by the French government. The Dutch side is an independent country. The Dutch seemed more commercial but both have lots of shops, restaurants, etc. There are over 300 restaurants on the island and no processed food everything is fresh made except for the few US restaurants for the visitors like KFC and Burger King.
The schools are very good here and most children will have learned 4 languages by the time they graduate.
There has been a lot of rebuilding since the hurricane in 2017, which practically destroyed everything on the island.
There were several ships in port today but it didn’t feel crowded. The water was so beautiful!
Back on the ship for dinner and tonight’s entertainment was a rock band.
Tomorrow is our last port day and we are going to the beach in St Thomas.

Carnival Magic Day 4-San Juan, PR! This was my first time here and it is a beautiful town full of history. Someone in our group has a friend who lives and she came with a friend who gave us a walking tour pointing out many things of interest. Castillo San Felipe Del Morro was one of the stops. It was so interesting to see the history and how they protected the island. Views were breathtaking! The photo with the police officer is in front of the governor’s home that you can see in the background.
There were 4 ships in port so there were a lot of people walking around.
We only stayed in the main area but once you get out there are nice beaches and other area to visit. I definitely would want to come back to this island to explore more places.
Back on the ship for dinner and entertainment which was a Motown singer Marcus Anthony.
Today we will be in St Maarten.

Carnival Magic Day 3! Yesterday we were at Amber Cove, DR which is Carnival’s private port. Amber Cove has shops, a pool with a lazy river, waterfall, and splash pad. are also zip lines, water slides, kayaks for an additional fee.
Someone in our group has a friend who has a home here and they arranged a driver to take us to the beach and a tour of town. The water is absolutely beautiful!! You can’t even describe the colors!
Then back to ship for dinner. Entertainment tonight was a group of people singing 80’s music and a comedian.
Today we will be in San Juan, PR.

Carnival Magic Day 2! Today was a sea day or a sleep/eat day. 😀 Started off with breakfast in the main dining room. On sea days they offer a brunch that has everything from french toast to fried chicken. I had the french toast, everyone at our table loved it.
After that we just relaxed on the deck for a little sun time. By then it was lunch time and we had bbq at Guy Fieri’s Pig and Anchor. Ice cream for dessert and of course I found a dog! He is a service dog named Noah.
On the top deck of the ship is an adult only area called Serenity. It was windy but we sat up there for awhile and got in the hot tub.
Dinner was another great meal!! The entertainment was a magician and Motown music in the atrium.

Today (Monday) we have our first cruise stop in Amber Cove, DR. Someone in our group knows someone here so we are taking a private driving tour of the island and having lunch.

So far the food has been good. I had an Emeril Lagasse special menu choice which was BBQ Salmon and of course the famous Carnival chocolate cake.
As we were leaving port there were several other ships there. Carnival Sunrise, Norwegian Bliss and the new Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas.

Our first day on the Carnival Magic. Check in was amazingly easy. We pulled in the parking lot and the porters were there to get our bags. 20 minutes later we were on the ship!!
We are in a balcony cabin, mid ship on the 6th floor.
