In case you missed it, the countdown to Epic has officially begun! Universal Orlando Resort’s highly anticipated fourth theme park – Universal Epic Universe – will officially open on May 22nd, 2025, unlocking the portals to five astounding worlds that will bring to life extraordinary adventures that go beyond guests’ wildest imaginations.

I can begin planning your 2025 epic vacation to Universal Orlando to experience the entire destination !!

Specific products launching in this first phase TODAY, October 22nd, include:

A variety of multi-day tickets and vacation packages that include three, four or five days of admission to Universal’s theme parks – including one day admission to Epic Universe.
Reservations for Universal Helios Grand Hotel will open for stays beginning May 22nd, 2025.

In the coming weeks, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will begin piloting a new service providing expedited entry to theme park attractions: Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be offered in very limited quantities and will give guests one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in the theme park they are visiting that day.

This includes attractions included in both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, but with Lightning Lane Premier Pass, guests do not need to select an experience time. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be a premium offering, and prices will vary based on the date and theme park guests are visiting.

At Disneyland Resort, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available first come, first served beginning two days in advance of a theme park reservation and will be valid for use in both theme parks. The first date it will be available is October 23, 2024.

At Walt Disney World, when Lightning Lane Premier Pass launches, it will be available to guests staying at Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts and may be purchased up to seven days in advance of their stay. It will only be valid for use in one park of the guest’s choice per day. The first date it will be available is October 30, 2024.

Last week Disney announced that Tron at the Magic Kingdom will end its Virtual Queue and move to a standby line—which is effective starting tomorrow morning, September 9th.

Here's what you need to know:

There will still be Single Lightning Lane Passes available to purchase. Demand is likely to go up for these a bit. This will be the easiest way to ride, but it is pricey.

Tron is NOT included in Early Entry as of right now.

It will likely not be strategic to "rope drop" this ride, especially if you're off-site. Early Entry folks will be using Early Entry just to line up for Tron. If that applies to you, go for it, but understand that you are waiting to wait if the ride doesn't actually open until park opening. You're also giving up the opportunity to go over to the left side of the park and hit multiple attractions with little to no wait, so as of now, I don't recommend hitting Tron first.
