One of our favorite parts of traveling is strolling along back streets and secret trails in search of the local’s restaurants and unique attractions. If you’ve been on one of our tours you already know that we like to walk a lot, sharing our discoveries, while working off our previous delicious meal. What a great time it is for perambulators looking for shoes that are made of materials. It seems that everyday there are new and established brands releasing their take on non-leather footwear. When in Paris we always visit one of our favorite restaurants, Le Faitout. Amazing food and friendly staff. Sadly there is talk that they will soon be closing. We hope that they will still be open when we return in January for one more delicious charcuterie board with their house made cheese.

While passing through Albuquerque we stopped by , a quirky dinner, pharmacy, gift shop combo. Duran’s mexican food menu is far from , but it was a fellow that had raved about their “Torpedo” with green chili sauce without dairy cheese. It was so delicious (and gigantic)!

We love finding restaurants out in the middle of nowhere, including inside weird, small-town Nevada casinos. The menu didn't look promising, but the owner said no problem and put together a couple of giant plates of fried noodles and steamed rice piled high with really fresh, perfectly seasoned (and spicy!) veggies. Randomly, he is also a baker who honed his skills in San Francisco, and he gave us a big tub of his year-old starter to take home. Bonus!
