💸 Scholarship Opportunity Alert! 💸
Applications are now open for the 7th Annual H-E-B UIL Scholarship for Texas students participating in athletics, music, or academics. This is a chance for your senior to win a $2,000 scholarship!

📅 Deadline to Apply: January 31, 2025

Eligibility Requirements:
✔️ Minimum 3.3 GPA
✔️ Documentation of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months
✔️ Community Service Verification Letters
✔️ A Letter of Recommendation
✔️ A Short Essay (500 words or less) on: “What does Community mean to you?”

🏆 15 Winners Total (5 each in music, academics, and athletics) will be announced during the 2025 UIL Basketball State Championships in March.

On Thursday, PEF had the privilege to provide lunch PLIS for the highest percentage on employee giving “Giving Tuesday”. We even got to experience a “lock down drill”. Your kids are safe as well as guest at PLIS.

With the temperature forecasted to drop to 5° when many of our students are waiting for their bus or heading out the door to walk to school, we are highly concerned for their safety and well-being.

Plainview I.S.D. will delay class start until 10 o’clock. Buses will run at 9 o’clock. Please bundle your little ones before sending them outside.

✨ Celebrating CNA Success: Briel Ramirez's Story ✨

Plainview ISD is proud to share a heartwarming story from one of our dedicated educators, Mrs. Missy Powers, about a remarkable graduate of our CNA program, Briel Ramirez.

Briel, a 2023 Plainview ISD graduate, completed her CNA training during her senior year under Mrs. Powers' guidance. Today, she is excelling as a CNA in the Emergency Room at Covenant Hospital Plainview, where her skills and compassion shine.

Recently, Mrs. Powers witnessed Briel in action when her own mother was treated in the ER. Briel’s professionalism, care, and expertise left a lasting impression. The ER staff praised Briel, calling her a vital asset to their team.

Stories like Briel’s highlight the incredible impact of our CTE programs and the dedicated educators who prepare students for success. We’re proud of Briel and all the healthcare professionals Plainview ISD is helping shape!

Congrats to Christopher Aguilar!!

This last Saturday, five students competed in the Area A 5A auditions in Odessa, Texas, seeking to earn a coveted chair in the Texas All State Band. This is a rigorous process that services tens of thousands of Texas music students, beginning in August and concluding in February at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Plainview High School is proud to announce that our very own Christopher Aguilar (a Freshman!) was declared first chair in the audition and will represent Plainview in a few short weeks as a member of one of the Texas All State Bands.

Way to go Christopher!
