Woodstock Rhythm Circles offers a wide variety of workshops to meet the needs of the offering host. The gatherings begin with everyone being told that as hard as they try, no one can make a mistake. This immediately sets up a safe space for the participants as they begin their magical journey.
A Rhythm Circle in a corporate setting is a great way to generate team-building and relieve stress. Participants see themselves as an integral part of the rhythm and must depend upon each other to keep the beat going. Collaboration, camaraderie, and creativity are totally present.Woodstock Rhythm Circles has presented its Business Program to groups as diverse as 30 plastic surgeons in Northern Virginia, and 25 insurance executives in Albany, N.Y. In every case the infectious rhythms and musical games brought everyone closer and more intimate with each other.
Team building is always present as the group soon finds itself more focused, present to the moment at hand, and in touch with their personal power. As everyone is leaving the common conversation seems to be, “ Wow that was fun, when can we do it again?”
The various exercises include drum conversations whereby two people are asked to listen carefully to their partner’s creative voice, using the drum to explain the ups and downs of a typical work day, and breaking up into competitive fun groups to tell the story of their business through rhythm and lyrics. Woodstock Rhythm Circles stimulate communication and relationship skills which are relevant to participants in all walks of life and at all ages.
The Musician Within
This is an opportunity to discover the musician within. Songwriting, creating melodies, rap, and recording studio work are just a few of the exciting experiences that are offered in this group setting.
Private Parties
We enhance your private party or event by bringing all the entertainment your guests need to have an unforgettable, unique time...thanks to you.
Children and Camps
We bring instruments and fun to summer camps involving 5-14 year olds in team building and just plain fun; since 2003, we have been leading Rhythm Circles for the children of guests at Mohonk Mountain House in NY.
Senior Respite Care and Nursing Home
The joy on the faces of the seniors as they begin to tap the drums or shake the rattles, is palpable. Circles of seniors ages 78 to 102, and groups as large as 60 people, bring an enthusiasm that moves many to start to dance. Staff has said that many people who seemed depressed, participated in a way that surprised them and took them into a different mood.
Couples Playing Together
Need a bit of a boost in communication with your loved one? Couples Playing Together will get you both playing and communicating in a common, non-threatening language of the drums. Utilizing Nathan and Laurie’s counseling and facilitating skills, couples learn to listen and react in the present moment, in truth and vigor.
Dance and Movement
The sound of the drums is irresistible and no one can sit still once the music starts. We are available for dance theater, movement, and dance exercise classes.
