If an African Safari is on your bucket list, then you really need to read this! Back in 2023 I was blessed with the opportunity to experience an African Safari with Oltumure Tours, a local to Tanzania tour operator. I’ve obviously done a lot of traveling. This safari was one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever had. So many times during this adventure, I was questioning whether or not it was real. What I saw was things like you’d see in a movie or a National Geographic documentary.
Now I get to share this experience with YOU!! To most, Africa is an intimidating destination. It’s so far away and the logistics are very tough to work through. Well, myself and Oltumure Tours are taking care of everything (except the distance part. It’s still pretty far away). Once you land in Kilimanjaro, you’ll be picked up and taken to your first hotel. From there, all transportation, lodging, meals and daily safaris are included. After our journey is over, you’ll be brought back to the airport and you’ll be on your way home.
Below is a brief summary of our 6/28-7/6 adventure. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. This is a bucket list trip!
6/28-6/29-Gran Melia Arusha. Meet and greet at the airport with transportation to the hotel. Dinner is included with no activities this day. We need you to rest up for the days ahead.
6/29-6/30-Tarangire Safari Lodge. After the included breakfast, we head to Tarangire. National Park, known for its boabab trees, Masai giraffes, lions and it’s also known as the Garden of Elephants. A picnic lunch is included and so is dinner at the lodge.
6/30-7/3-Into Wild Africa Luxury Tented Safari Camp. This is “glamping” at its finest! This magical property is located INSIDE Serengeti National Park! You will be in your own furnished tent, with electricity and private bathroom. It’s pretty much a canvas cabin. Words cannot describe how awesome this place is and obviously it’s location. During this leg of the trip, we will explore the Serengeti and seek out the “Big Five”, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, lions and leopards. I promise you this, seeing these animals in the wild is a totally different experience than seeing them at the zoo! All meals are included.
7/3-7/5-Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Early early in the morning on the 3rd, we have our only optional excursion that’s not included in the package. That happens to be a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti. This is an absolutely must do experience! It feels like you’re floating on a cloud. Now I’ve never actually floated on a cloud before, but I have a feeling this excursion is what it feels like. After being in the air for about 45 minutes or so, the balloon will land in the Serengeti and they will have an outdoor English breakfast waiting for us. For those not doing the hot air balloon, there will be a sunrise game drive inside the Serengeti. After that, we make our way to the Ngorongoro Crater. This leg of the trip will include a safari inside the crater in one of our private safari vehicles and one day we get to do a walking safari!! I’m excited about that!
7/5-7/6-Arusha Serena Hotel Resort and Spa. After the safari in the morning, we head back to Arusha for one more overnight before our adventure comes to an end. Transportation will be provided from the resort to the airport on the 6th.
So how much does this cost? $4,200 per person based on double occupancy. This includes all ground transportation (I have 4 safari vehicles lined up for our group only), lodging, meals and our own private guides.
What’s not included-Flights, gratuities, hot air balloon ($550/person) and adult beverages. You do have the option of adding a pre-night stay at the Gran Melia on 6/27 for $250/person. That does include the cost of airport transportation. I’ve compared a comparable itinerary with a big box tour company and theirs was coming in at just under $10,000/person. Because I’m working with a local to Tanzania company, the savings is HUGE!! If you have any questions (and you will), reach out to me anytime!! 1(508)326-8423
