ITALY NEWS: STRIKES on July 5, 2024
On July 5, travelers should expect disruption and reconfirm flight schedules during a four-hour nationwide strike by airport workers. The strike will take place from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM and is expected to affect several major airports including the capital Rome’s Fiumicino airport (FCO), Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi airport (BLQ, Emilia-Romagna region), Milan’s Malpensa and Linate airports (MXP and LIN, Lombardy region), and Venice’s Marco Polo airport (VCE, Veneto region). Flights will be guaranteed from 7:00 AM-10:00 AM and 6:00 PM -9:00 PM. Travelers should expect residual disruption even after normal operations resume.

June 22: FYI; Capri: Capri authorities halt tourist arrivals after some pipes burst.
Tourists who have hotels booked on Capri will be allowed back onto the island as local administration works to secure water supplies after damage to the aqueduct on the mainland depriving it of running water.
Local authorities have been working through the night to repair as well as securing water shipments & tankers carrying water to island.
Hotels typically have their own water tanks & should be able to ensure water for their guests.

I love staying at this traditional boutique hotel in Napoli. Close to the best shops & artisana boutiques as well as great restaurant. Easy walk to Piazza Plebiscito & Via Toledo.
Off piazza dei Martiri on a charming quiet street & has a charming courtyard entry. Rooms are bright & clean & the beds very comfortable. They also have a lovely breakfast.
