Hello! We are thrilled to announce that the beachside elevator has been repaired and is now fully operational. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our owners and guests who had to use the stairs for the past 12 weeks.

Our hardworking staff, especially housekeeping and maintenance, have been crucial in getting things done during the downtime. We couldn't have done it without them!

07/05/2024

Our Beach Building elevator door was significantly damaged in late March.

Our elevator service company responded immediately but the damage was significant. Many of the elevator doors internal parts were damaged and new parts had to be ordered. The elevator has been out of service pending arrival of the new parts. The initial delivery date was expected this past week.

We have now been informed that the parts are currently unavailable and are not expected to arrive until Mid-July.

We have been in constant contact with the elevator company and believe they are doing everything they can as quickly as possible.

Please bear with us until this situation can be resolved.

For those who will be visiting us Now thru the end of July. Please be informed we will not have an elevator in our Beach Building please see below.

Anyone staying at the property during this time will be required to use the stairs. Upon request, we will attempt to assign owners and guests to the lowest possible floor, however this will be based on availability at that time and cannot be guaranteed.
Please remember the building has a total of 4 floors. The units technically start on the 2nd floor, ground floor is our parking garage. This means everyone will be required to use the stairs during this time.

We do not have additional staff to assist with luggage, groceries or personal items. Anyone who uses a wheelchair, is immobile, has issues going up and down stairs, requires special assistance or has any doubts that they could use the stairs for the duration of their stay should make alternative arrangements.

If you are an owner that is a member of an exchange company and are unable to use the stairs, we strongly recommend depositing your week (s) and requesting an exchange to another resort or to the Bay & Beach Club at a time when the elevator will be in service.

We understand and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause for our owners, and guests. We will do our best to accommodate your needs in every way possible. Changing units will be limited due to availability.

If you have any questions, concerns, please contact us at (727) 595-3751.

Hey everyone just a quick update on the beach renourishment project. It looks like they are just about finished in front of the resort. They built dunes which are about 5 to 7 feet high anticipating that we will lose 5 ft in the next two years.

BEACH RE-NOURISHMENT/BEACH ACCESS/CLOSURES
It was discovered this past weekend that due to the Emergency Beach Erosion Control Project that is taking place along the shores of Pinellas County will most likely impact your use of the beaches during your stay in the month of January. According to the website the beach will be closed beginning Dec 18th thru February 2, with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year’s. As of today we did observe many visitors along the shore line enjoying the cooler beach weather. We have contacted the County via telephone and email to see if they could provide us with a more definitive answer. We are awaiting a response now. Because it is upon us we did not want to wait any longer to notify our owners and guest.

Hurricane Idalia caused severe erosion (see Photos in post) on Pinellas beaches, washing away dunes and as much as four feet of the beach’s height in some places. Pinellas County has hired a contractor to build dunes to protect homes and infrastructure from future storms. Without the dunes, beachfront properties would be directly exposed to storm surge, which is an extremely destructive wall of water pushed by storm winds.

This critical project has two phases, starting with the emergency protection phase and, in a few years, the second phase will be full nourishment. Nourishment will bring the beach height halfway up the dunes (five feet above sea level). For the next two years, while the County designs and permits the nourishment phase, these dunes will be all that stands between the beachfront properties and the Gulf of Mexico. You’ll notice that the vegetation planting on the dunes starts several feet up the dune (7 feet above sea level). We expect the bottom several feet of the dunes to end up on the beach. That sand provides a buffer for the new plants to establish themselves without being washed away by high tides and storm.

The dunes were constructed in anticipation of the nourishment project bringing the beach back to a 5-foot elevation. Anything less would not provide sufficient protection during the next two hurricane seasons while the nourishment project is being designed and permitted.

The dunes do not require any maintenance except for some watering while the vegetation is getting established. However, to ensure the dunes do not need to be replanted or reconstructed, residents and visitors must stay off the dunes and only use the designated pathways.

Check out the photo Completed project Flyer but more importantly Be sure to check out the before and after 1985 and again in 2015. This looks to be during construction of the Bay & Beach Bldg. I found it very interesting to see how close the water was to the property line back in 1985

2023 Annual Meeting / 2024 Budget Meeting Minutes

The Minutes for the 2023 Annual Meeting and 2024 Budget Meeting have been posted to the Owner's Page of the Bay and Beach Club Website. These are official records of the Association and will only be posted in their entirety on the Owner's Page of the Website. If you are an owner and can't access the Owner's page please contact the Front Desk of the Resort.

16/10/2023

Our 2023 Annual Meeting is this Saturday 10/21/2023

The zoom contact information for the Meeting is available from the Front Desk. We have been asked why we can't just post the zoom contact information on the website or Facebook. Our account with zoom will only allow 100 participants. When we exceed that number zoom arbitrarily drops and adds participants. It is not a good situation. So we ask that you contact the Front Desk to register and please do not give out the number to friends or Facebook. Please ask anyone wishing to participate to contact the Front Desk.

Hello for all those who will be visiting from October 8 to the 14th check out the link included in the post. Proceeds from the event will help those on Captiva and Sanibel Island rebuild their community and tourism industry.

Our organization is heartbroken to see the impact of Hurricane Ian on our neighbors to the south. As a result, Taste of the Beaches will now help the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce to rebuild their tourism industry and community!

We are grateful to have the support of Parc Center for Disabilities on this decision! You can help by purchasing tickets here: www.tampabaybeaches.com/taste.
