Marbella is said to have been founded by the Phoenicians as early as the 7th century BC.
It wasn’t until after the Second World War when only 900 inhabitants were living in the area that Ricardo Soriano, Marquis of Ivanrey, moved to Marbella and made it a popular destination among his rich and famous friends. He is credited for beginning the development of tourism in Marbella when he built a resort there as well.
The history doesn’t end there… even the Romans had a part to play in this fascinating history.

I have had a few people reach out regarding Mexico being safe to travel to right now. When you see headlines sometimes it’s hard to believe anything else.
