Congratulations to the 58th!

✈️🎉 Big congratulations to the 58th Airlift Squadron for being honored as the Top Operations Squadron for Mobility/Special Operations for 2023 by the Air Education & Training Command! 🎉✈️

Lt. Col. Peter Bulinski, 58th Airlift Squadron commander, shares why this award is a significant achievement.

“I was ecstatic to find out that the 58th was recognized for all the tremendous work we did throughout the year. On top of graduating over 1,000 C-17 Globemaster III aircrew, we reinstated the C-17 Demonstration Team, participated in Mobility Guardian, developed medics through Caduceus Spear exercises, and deployed a Patriot Battalion from Ft. Sill,” said Bulinski. “We also conducted 10 Joint Training/Air Transportability Training exercises, developing our aircrew as well as Army Airborne and Navy Leapfrog personnel, and graduated 25 members from seven professional development courses. It truly was an incredible year that wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of every member of the squadron.”

𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟰, 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟬 𝗔𝗠! 🐂

The route will begin at the soccer fields near the main gate and continue throughout the base. There will be stops along the route where kids are encouraged to pet the horses and cattle!

The City of Altus and Altus Parks and Recreation are scheduled to host Altus Night Out Sept. 9 at Imagination Station from 4 PM - 8 PM.

There will be free hot dogs, K-9 demonstrations, family games, and a foam party!

Kelby Hagerla has had this flag since we were stationed in Charleston in 2005-2010. This flag flew in the C-17 with him while he flew Missions supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. We have lived in 7 different houses since then, and he never had the chance to hang it. I kept asking him why, and he always said it was because it had to have a light on it at night because I would never remember to take it down every night. 😂 So, he now finally has the light. This flag represents so much, and we will always be thankful for what it stands for.
