Truly excited to see that our original Circa Who chair was featured at the annual Kips Bay Palm Beach Showhouse

This timeless, elegant and whimsical piece will be traveling from Palm Beach to Virginia Beach in April where it will make its home in The Raleigh House! The best is that it comes complete with lots of stories and memories of special places and people to have met.

We cannot wait to feature the chair for you all to see!

A love of statement bookcases.

Thank you to for the WOW inspiration and your amazing bookshelf in the upstairs lounge at Playa Grande Beach Club.

I visited the breath taking property four years ago and took four days to study Celerie’s work of art! Her case completely inspired me and gave me a determination to create a similar statement piece in The Pink House.

We filled the shelves of the bookcase with new and old glassware and dish ware. The mirror was an antique mirror pieced together from New York. It was eye catching to very guest who entered the home.

A HUGE shoutout to Mike, our Bees Nees Project Manager, because we truly could not do this without him.

For nearly four years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Mike, and there’s no doubt we’re better because of it. He is steadfast and kind, leading with a level of dedication that continually inspires us. His extraordinary level of craftsmanship and his ability to keep our projects moving seamlessly is a major reason why Bees Nees Homes stand apart. We are endlessly thankful for him.

The Cottage House Days …

I often find myself building off of my experiences and journeys from my past projects. It was the first time I put together a team to bring this beautiful home back to life.

I was struck by this quintessential cedar shake home in the Outer Banks in 2021. it reminded me of a home that I would find in a coastal town in the Northeast. The home took me back to summertime days of my youth. I loved the natural light, the connection with nature and the open feeling of the home. It was actually painted yellows and reds throughout the home and we quickly changed the interior paint color to a shade of white, and it really brightened and expanded the feel of the home.

I would have to say that what I learned from restoring this home was the importance of connecting the interior with the natural elements of the exterior of the home.

I also learned the value of finding skilled craftsman of their trade and showing them great respect to bring a project together of the highest quality.

Creating private and serene garden spaces is an important part of the restoration process when restoring a Bees Nees home,

We believe that the indoor and outdoor areas should be enjoyed simultaneously. The garden spaces should be as welcoming as the indoor spaces.

The Pink House terrace brought together a team of craftsmen to build the warm and inviting pool surrounded by lush gardens and a classic patio for all to enjoy.

From the moment we lay eyes on a home, we see its potential. We are dedicated to preserving as much as the original structure as possible—honoring the original craftsmanship, charm, and soul that make each property truly one of a kind. It's about respecting the past and creating something extraordinary for the future.

Katie, why don’t you just tear it down?

It was suggested that I should just completely tear down the Pink House right after I purchased the special house. Some would have expressed to me that the house was on life-support. I saw and felt something completely different when I first entered the home. It was full of warmth, memories, stories, and great bones. Why would I ever tear down a home so sweet when I can pour love and attention and bring it back to life for future generations to cherish.

My love and heart for preservation grew during the three years I developed and restored the iconic Pink House property. This sweet pink house quite simply became iconic in the community and beyond and was a happy, gathering place for memories to be made!

I am eager and determined to carry on my preservation work throughout our community. It is important work. It requires patience, love, thoughtfulness and time, but in the end, history will be preserved and carried forward!

The front yard of The Raleigh House feels like a peaceful retreat with a touch of English countryside. Our love of restoration carries from the inside of the house to the outside.

Our goal is to enhance the lush and peaceful escape within the private brick walls surrounding the property. Our main inspiration to enhance the outdoor spaces comes from fellow restore projects that respect and honor the past whilst blending loving improvements.

We cannot wait to watch this space grow as we move into springtime! 🪴🌳🌱
