One of my most asked questions is where my favorite place to travel is.
Typically my answer is Disney or a Royal Carribean cruise since that’s where I spend most my time, but sometimes I like to share where my favorite place to travel was while growing up in a small town.
It’s probably one of the most unique places you could ever visit. When you pull into the driveway you typically could see a line of cherubs and a great big field with a hidden stair case that felt otherworldy. Before you reached the door there was a long pink red carpet that could make you feel like a million bucks.
When you walked into the building and took a step inside it’s as if you brought back into a simpler time. One where wallpaper was in and s**g carpet was the talk of the town. The furniture and relics hand crafted and passed down through family as an ode to previous generations. There was a distinct scent that defined the space full of floral notes and a sense of hope. Every room had a purpose or a place to store cherished items.
I could sit in what I called the piano room and play with the lights on the Christmas tree or I could run to the living room to see what game show seemed to be most appealing at the time. My favorite was being able to go into the kitchen and make chocolate milk out of my favorite Flinstones glass and the laughter that filled the dining room where all the family could gather. Needless to say it was definitely a niche place to stay.
My favorite place to travel was to my grandparents house. It was a place I loved more than anything.
The memories I made with my family and the love I felt every day I could spend with my grandparents surpassed anything money could buy.
Cherish your people and love on them. Life is too short to not take the trip whether it’s hours away or 10 minutes down the road.

Every year Disney puts on additional Halloween party events that are after hours. Attraction times low, candy everywhere, and special treats along the way too!

Every year me, my sister, and some of our closest friends do a trip to Disney & Universal and partake in all the spooky festivities!

If you have been to Dinseyland, what do you think about the food? What’s you favorite and least favorite?
I think I overhyped me and my husband up for these cones. They were not the worst but definitely not my favorite. We’ll try these again next time.
“They’ll never remember.”
I remember standing in line at our daughter’s first ride, Pirates of the Carribean, and a couple had tapped me on the shoulder and told me, “You wasted a lot of money bringing them this young. They’ll never remember.”
As much as it hurt my feelings, I smiled back and said, “But we will always remember.”
During our trip to Disney I remember being stopped a handful of times and being told a handful of these types of remarks.
One of the best things I do for myself in these situations is give people grace. I never know what someone may be going through or their story so I always listen and pause before responding.
The most prominent thought that comes to my head is when did we as a society forget that we are allowed to travel with our kids no matter how young they are.
Of course if I left them at home I could stay in the parks all day.
Of course if I left them at home I could ride every ride I want to ride.
Of course if I left them at home I could eat and drink around the world.
If I left them at home I would’ve missed the joy my son felt every time we rode a ride or meet a character.
If I left them at home I would’ve missed my son learning new words and having new experiences.
If I left them at home I would’ve missed the warmth of my baby girl and watching her grow so quickly in a short amount of time.
If I left my babies at home, I would’ve missed so much.
I am all for adult trips and solo trips. However, my babies are going to come with me on my adventures too.
I’ll never forget how much fun me and my husband had navigating the chaos as a young family. We took so many pictures and videos that we can’t wait to share when they are older to remind them of our family trips.
Time is fleeting. Take the trip, take the kids, make the memories for yourself as parents or family and save them for future stories.
My mom still to this day reminds of all the trips we took when we were younger. They are some of her favorite memories.

But we always will.

There are a ton of photo opportunities and rare character interactions! We had the best time seeing everyone dressed up and being able to walk on so many rides!

Checked into Fort Wilderness and yes we are still having truck issues unfortunately! We got bad diesel at Buc-ee’s and still can’t pin point the issue. Trying to enjoy our time and not stress. Excited to be at the Fort!🌲
