We all travel a bit differently, but today I thought I'd share what I pack in my carry-on for an international flight!

I LOVE packing simple and I've begun to dislike having a large carry-on to deal with in the airports. When I can, I try to keep my carry-on luggage to something I can easily handle and that fits under the seat on the plane. I found this awesome backpack that works perfectly for me. So, here are the things I can't live without on a 10 hour flight (and a 6+ hour layover ...):

-Pillow
-Books and my tablet (and charger)
-Snacks (little snacks are in one of the aqua bags for easy grabbing)
-All my liquids in a clear ziplock baggie (extra sanitizer, lotion, oils for headaches, water flavoring)
-Wet wipes
-Extra masks (all together in the other aqua bag)
-Melatonin and a sleep aid for when I'm too wired to sleep plus a sleep mask in case there is too much light on the plane
-Collapsible water bottle to fill up once I'm past TSA
-My travel purse that is a pared down version of what I carry at home
-All my important documents! This trip has my Passport holder that has both my Passport and vaccine card, my International Driver's License, my negative Covid test, and a print out of my flight details.

I used to carry extra clothes in my carry-on, but for this trip I'm getting picked up by family. If something goes wrong with my main luggage, I can borrow or run the store to get the essentials. If you take any meds, ALWAYS keep them in your carry-on with you. I also try to wear layers when I fly for variations in temperatures.

Plus, if I take one bag with me as a carry-on, I can always add a personal item on the way home if I end up buying more stuff than can fit in my suitcase. 😄

Here's another !!

If you know us, you know we are pretty big nerds. So, a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando is a must do for our family!

I am a huge Harry Potter fan (proud Gryffindor here) and I am always amazed at the magic of the Wizarding World. We have our interactive wands to cast spells, I always get a butterbeer (frozen is my fav), and love spending hours enjoying the atmosphere.

If you are into thrills, the new Velocicoaster is must-do! This high energy coaster takes you through a Raptor Enclosure!! It is not for the faint of heart, but is seriously one of the best coasters I have ever ridden (even though I was terrified at first).

And for special nerds like Britain, getting to see his favorite Transformers is always a hit. If you're lucky, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee even make appearances up close and personal!

Mica here with another edition of !

As much as we try to avoid it, sometimes we just have to park at the airport. In those huge, value, parking lots... where everything starts to look the same, especially after a long vacation away. So, after we park the car I get a picture of the nearest parking lot sign! I then send it Britain so we both have the picture, just in case something happens to one of the phones. On our way home, I can pull up the picture and know which bus stop to take!

Raise your hand if you have a favorite water bottle! I even have separate ones for home and the office, but they are large, metal, and will leak if tipped over. Not ideal for traveling. Enter, collapsible silicone travel water bottles! We take these on all of our adventures because staying hydrated is super important. I'm so happy that water bottle filling stations are becoming the norm at a lot of different locations including inside the parks and at airports. By taking our own bottles, we can keep ourselves hydrated and save money by not buying bottled water! But, wait - you don't like the taste of fountain water? Neither do I, so I add a healthy, flavored, electrolyte boost! Win-win, I make my water tasty and add back some much needed electrolytes I'm sweating out in the hot Florida sun!

Bonus tip: Did you know that you can get a free cup of ice water at ALL quick service dining locations in Disney World? You just have to ask! (also why we like these water bottles, the mouth is large enough to pour cups of ice and water into!)

Regardless of what type of bottle you like best, make sure to toss them into your luggage for your next trip! **just make sure they are empty when you go through TSA**

A new year calls for new posts - so let's kick off 2022 with some of my favorite Travel Tips!

Something you may not know about me is that I have a game on me almost all of the time. In my purse, my travel bag, my carry-ons... You never know when you may get stuck somewhere and want entertainment that isn't attached to a battery. Little card games come in really handy to pass the time while engaging with family and friends! Some of my favorites are small, lightweight, can be played with 2 or more people, and don't take too long. This can be as simple as a deck of cards or our personal favorite, Love Letter (and the various Love Letter fandom themed games).

As proof - Britain Stites and I got stuck in October when Southwest cancelled thousands of flights. So, a new game we'd picked up helped pass the time!

It's time to re-introduce myself. I am Mica and I LOVE to travel!!

I have been to over a dozen countries and 20 plus states. I have been to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Universal Studios Orlando, all with multiple visits. I have traveled to multiple All-Inclusive resorts and have Cruised. I've run 3 destination half marathons, including RunDisney. I even walked 500 miles across Spain and have ridden a stallion through the Moroccan desert!

BREAKING NEWS! Major Florida theme parks are adjusting their mask requirements. Guests will now be allowed to go without a mask while OUTSIDE. Masks are still going to be required while indoors and while in all attraction lines and while on all attractions.
