She led the charge for trails in the Matanuska-Susitna; a 25,000 square-mile region in the center of The Last Frontier.

Since stepping away from her work with the foundation, she’s made it her mission to share the Alaska experience with runners from all over the world.

Hmmm…

Can I enjoy? 🏔️ 🚶🏻‍♀️

Trails like those found in Alaska? 🤔

This is our most popular question (so you’re in good company). I pledged long ago to make Alaska’s trails a comfortable place for everyone to go, no matter their skill level or experience. We do this by:

1. Surveying guests who register to compile group experience and discover what everyone would like to do on trail in Alaska

2. Providing at least 1 guide to every 4 guests

3. Selecting trail outings which will either work for all aboard *or* break into subgroups if indicated (which doesn’t happen often)

We take everyone from walkers to ultrarunners - often on the same trail at the same time! - and everyone in between. Our guides are magic and everyone ends up happy and fulfilled.

We typically do 1-4 walks or runs per trip (see our registration page for details on your event), each lasting 1-4 hours (dependent upon who’s in the mix), interspersed with our adventurous side trips (cruises, glacier hopping, etc).

Guests are always welcome to stay back at the lodge if they want to pass on a hike or run, and just enjoy the amenities and the views for a bit.

Let me know if you have more questions. Hope to see you this summer!

Kim 🙂

Run Wild in the Last Frontier

The trails we tread wind their ways through Southcentral Alaska’s most spectacular backcountry. They take us through valleys, over hills and up into the high mountains, where we stop to breathe and let our souls soak up the views.

Each day, we tackle trails from 3 miles long to 20 miles or more, with elevation gains from “easy” to upwards of 5000 feet. We curate the runs for our clients.

What does that mean, you ask?

We certainly facilitate the runs, but Alaska is ultimately in charge. Conditions change daily and even hourly. Weather is one concern, but others include ice, snow, mud and water. Some trails are temporarily avoided due to bear “activity” and occasionally even closed due to a mad moose (*see above re: “Alaska is in charge”).
