On this day 65 years ago, the monorail AND Matterhorn Bobsled attractions opened at the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Monorail uses a 600-volt DC power source which does not emit an exhaust or pollutants into the atmosphere and was the first transportation system of its kind in America.
The Matterhorn Bobsleds was the first roller-coaster-style attraction at Disneyland Park—and the very first tubular steel coaster in the world.

A flume with a view! We can’t wait to take the plunge on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Our Mouse Expert team members are at a preview of this attraction today. Beginning June 28th guests can book a virtual queue or purchase Genie+ to make a lightning lane reservation when this attraction officially opens at the Magic Kingdom.

Why I love Disney Vacations!

I grew up in Southern California with a deep love of Disney. Some of my earliest memories were of my parents surprising my brother and I by saying we were going to look at garage sales on a Saturday morning and instead driving to Disneyland® Park . I was also lucky enough to have many many memories of trips to Walt Disney World® Resort. I can clearly remember my first ride of Space Mountain® and playing with my little brother in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground. In fact, the happiest memories that I have of my childhood are from our Disney family vacations. As an adult, I’ve come to LOVE Disney Cruises as well and look forward to taking my family to enjoy Disney as it grows and changes. My 4 year old daughter is already talking about her next trip and I have absolutely no problem with that. haha!

Disney creates magic. And I love helping families create the perfect, stress-free trip so that they can experience that magic too.
