The United States has revised its testing requirements for all travelers ages 2 and above entering the U.S. Effective for flights departing on or after December 6, all travelers arriving into the U.S. regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day of initial flight departure, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days. Travelers who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents must still have proof of being fully vaccinated to enter the U.S.

All U.S.-bound travelers must also sign a Passenger Attestation Form and provide Contact Tracing Information prior to travel.

Travel to France
France has issued new precautionary measures for travelers aged 12 and over following the emergence of the Omicron variant. Effective December 4, all travelers from countries outside the EU, regardless of vaccination status, must provide a negative PCR or antigen test taken within 48 hours of departure.

Costa Rica Travel Update:

As of January 8th, 2022, all Costa Rica hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars, casinos, shops, museums, art and dance academies, gymnasiums, and adventure tourism groups will require travelers to be fully vaccinated with either a Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, or Jassen COVID-19 Vaccine.

Beginning next year, visitors age 12 and older will need to complete an electronic Health Pass form at least 72 hours before departure. Upon completion, travelers will receive a QR code that confirms their status as vaccinated. Alternatively, travelers can opt to bring a printed vaccination certificate instead. Children under the age of 12 and adults with an accredited medical condition that renders them exempt from the COVID-19 vaccine will be excused from the new restrictions.

For the interim period until January 8th, hotels can choose to adopt the 100% vaccination model now or the unvaccinated model of 50% vaccinated/non vaccinated. ALG Vacations is working with our hotel partners in destination to provide you the most updated requirements by hotel.

Today, the Italian government announced new COVID-19 testing requirements. Effective September 1, all travelers, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 antigen or molecular test taken at most 72 hours before arrival into Italy. Children under six years of age will not be required to present a negative test result.

Please be aware that any travelers who are unable to obtain a negative COVID-19 test within the departure window will be denied boarding and must cancel or rebook their flight. There are no options to test or quarantine upon arrival into Italy.

All passengers traveling to Italy must fill out a Digital Passenger Locator Form before arrival and one of the following: Vaccination card, Green pass or Certificate of recovery.
